Best headphones, no amp, no budget

N Not necessarily. While this guy isn't on a budget (being on a budget would be a good reason), some people truly want to be portable/simple. And considering the options (I'd say we're entering a golden age of closed portables), it may not be as necessary to use an amp anymore.

Best headphones, no amp, no budget

My current favorite is the B&O H6 (seriously sexy+comfortable+neutral) but for you I would definitely recommend the V-Moda M100 for the crazy bass and/or the Bowers and Wilkins P7 for luxurious looks/build and fun, great sound. All of these are streets ahead of your beats. I think you may be...

PRESS RELEASE: Bang & Olufsen announces BeoPlay H3 and H6 headphones

I think your English was fine :). And I was in a very similar situation to you with closed portables. Except I returned my Momentums because I thought they sounded too closed and boomy, and the cups were too small making them on-ears. The P7's were my first choice but I actually found the...

I personally think both look pretty strange. For me it's the H6 or P7 (despite that P7 sticks out a bit). The beats kind of make the wearer look a little like a tool and the v-moda style isn't for me.

Yea but I think there's something more saddening seeing a more modern-looking hideous device -- that even attempts to be a "fashion forward" -- on someone's head. The Sony doesn't look too great but at least it's old and looks old so it's fitting, and classic-ish looking (to be fair both of them...

Haha I love how the dude said he didn't care about design and comfort but we're all counting it as a factor (comfort especially, for me, should be big factor... And those hp50's really do look atrocious). Anyway I'd just like to weigh in by unhelpfully adding the P7 to that list. While I found...

Yea it depends which one I'm looking at but I the modern/trendy/kinda retro look the black/green gives. And that's smart I didn't even realize you can unplug things at the Apple Store.    Thanks though I'm definitely loving these and assuming comfort and style are also important I think these...

Reply to review by 'miumius' on item 'Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H6'

Great review! I just got these and I agree on pretty much all points. Also when I tried these with my iPhone 5S I was surprised to find that they sounded quite a bit better than the when driven from an older model in the Apple Store. Is this just me/something wrong in the Apple Store or do later...

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H6 Discussion Thread

Loving these. I'm surprised they're not more appreciated as to my ears their pretty darn neutral and open for a closed fashion portable headphone. Anyway do you guys know any good case that can be used with these headphones? I'm not even sure if the thing that came in the box was even a case.

Yep I think I'm definitely in the minority in that I'm totally fine with a slightly recessed bass on the move if the other aspects of the headphones totally makes up for it (though really the bass is there). Also I should add that demoing it any other store than B&O itself really doesn't do it...

I've thought about this too. While I loved the look and luxury of the Momentums I found them pretty impractical for portable use. With that said they were okay on the move but the sound signature wasn't for me. The P7's is a good compromise (I liked that the soundstage was larger), and the...

Thanks OP. Finally got the H6's. The comfort and openness is pretty amazing. Definitely would recommend over the Momentum and P7.

While I'm not the OP, I have demoed both headphones and found that while the P7's are more comfortable than most headphones on here (esp. the almost-on-ear Sennheiser Momentum for me), the leather was a bit too firm, the clamping was a bit to strong, and the heavy headband became a big problem...

Sweet thank you and btw your portable headphone thread is amazing and super helpful thanks for that. Also is the tan version of these really that hard to clean? I'm stuck between the two colors haha

Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H6 Discussion Thread

Okay so I'm definitely about to cancel my P7 order for these (Amazon still doesn't have them in stock) but can this be driven well without an amp? I use an iPhone 5S and don't feel like buying/carrying around an amp. Thanks :)

Well after many many decisions I've narrowed it down to the B&W P7 and the B&O H6... anybody got any suggestions? Are the P7's really that uncomfortable? I found the Momentums difficult so comfort (and portability and sound of course) are pretty important to me. Also I go ampless from an iPhone 5S.

Looking For Portable, Stylish, and Comfortable OverEar For All Genres (Bowers and Wilkins P7 vs BeoPlay H6)

Thanks guy it looks like I'll be going with the P7's (though I will try out the Sonys). Does anyone have any opinions on the H6?

Thank you for this. I'll probably get this. Though would you say that the P7's need an amp (from iPhone)?

Looking For Portable, Stylish, and Comfortable OverEar For All Genres (Bowers and Wilkins P7 vs BeoPlay H6)

I liked the MDR-1R in the store... but I couldn't really try them since the sound was broken I might check again. But yea they were comfortable and looked pretty great. However call me superficial but I don't mind paying a little premium for materials/looks since I'm paying so much anyways...

Looking For Portable, Stylish, and Comfortable OverEar For All Genres (Bowers and Wilkins P7 vs BeoPlay H6)

Hello,         I had to return my beautiful Sennheiser Momentum's as I found the cups to be quite uncomfortable as my ears constantly struggled to fit inside (they managed to fit after a while, but any more than hour of use was pretty uncomfortable). To add to that the case was unreasonably...

(B&W P3 vs Momentum On-Ear) Looking For ~$200 Headphones With Great Style, Sound, and Decent Portability for All Genres

Yes I dismissed them at first because I wasn't too fond of that look as they look very bulky but they certainly seem to be a great in the comfort and sound department. How would these compare to the ones mentioned in the poll (above) in terms of portability, comfort, and sound?

(B&W P3 vs Momentum On-Ear) Looking For ~$200 Headphones With Great Style, Sound, and Decent Portability for All Genres

Hello,         I have about $200 to spend on Amazon and I'm having trouble deciding which headphones would be best for me. I definitely love the minimalist but stylistic/shiny look of the Bowers and Wilkins P3 but I'm not sure if the sound holds up (I'm new to this).   I listen to a lot of...
