I had a hard time choosing between the k712 and he 650 but on mles thread it seemed for an all rounder for gaming and music he rated the k712 higher then the hd 650.

From what the mle forum said the k712 were better for sound whoring, etc while not giving up an immersive experience either. Although on amazon used k712 and hd 650 are the same price.

Ya I play a lot of CSGO, cod, and bf1 so after reading the hd 650 didnt have that great of a soundstage I figured I should look elsewhere.

Thanks for the info, after looking more into them I decided on the akg k712 pro since i read on mad lust envys thread theyre pretty much a better dt 990 and i plan on doing more gaming the music with them.

I currently use the Audeze El 8 open back with the magni 2 but these give me a headache after 1-2 hours (due to clamp I think) so I was looking for other choices. So far Ive somewhat narrowed it down to the HD650/600, hifi 400s, fidelio x2, dt 990, or shure 1840. Im open to other suggestions...

I saw on amazon the hd600 goes for about $200 used while the shures are a bit over $400

Thanks, I've used the akg k7xx and the had 598 in the past and really liked both. Overall do you think the hd600/650 or shures would be better for the price.

I recently got the audeze el-8s open from a friend and the clamp is a bit to much for me, is there another headphone around the $400 mark that you guys could recommend? I was thinking about getting the shure 1840s.

I don't listen to a lot of classical so I wouldn't be able to answer that but they are bassier then the hd 598 open to me and i like the bass better on these then the m50xs.

The headphones sound great and it says that the pads are replaceable, does anyone have any recommendations for pads that might lessen the sound leak if that's even a thing.

Just ordered mine and they'll arrive Saturday so Im hoping for good impressions.

I've owned the momentums in the past but I've always enjoyed the hd 598 and RS 185 I have at home much more so I thought maybe a closed 598 would get me as close to that as possible.

Would the HD 598 Cs be a good choice if im looking for a closed headphone for the office and something id use on a plane once a year? If not I'm open to other suggestions. 

I can also answer that, the only other ones I've owned were the Bose QC35 and Sennheiser PXC 550 and I can say that at least to me these sound better and overall would grab the sonys over the other two.

I currently own both the P7's and MDR 1000x's and feel torn between the two since while I find the P7's to sound better and more engaging, for office use i noticed I can still hear to much outside noise more then I thought anyway. The MDR1000x's sound good but not what I was expecting from all...

Ok thanks, I currently own the sennheiser pxc 550 but am willing to sacrifice  ANC for better and more fun sound quality.

How close do the H7 and P7 compare to each other? Im not sure which one to get.

That's a good questions I really don't know what to get in the end it seems to be between the mdr 1000x, P7, or sennheiser psc 550. Or whatever else pops up that compete with them.

So it seems like the P7 wireless are favored higher then the mdr1000x here, I need to get those now.

Just got mine, what effect mode is the best?  

So I got mine in and they sound great but on low levels there's a very present buzz, would switching to an optical mode be better then the analog one?

Alright thanks for the info. I use the 558 for gaming so if this is a slightly better version and wireless illness b happy to buy. Would you say $245 new on Amazon is a good price for these?

I know these are wireless but are they similar in sound stage and sound quality to the hd 558/598?
