Recommendations for full-size closed cans in the $200-$400 range

It can be a bit warmer. I use the K702's for gaming also so that was a consideration in that purpose.   The thing I like the most about the K702 65th Annie's are the comfort though. It's like wearing a cloud compared to what I had before.

Recommendations for full-size closed cans in the $200-$400 range

Hello all. This forum led me to my AKG K702 65th Anniversary editions and Audio-gd NF 11.32 which I LOVE. :) However I'd like a nice pair of closed cans for travel/work so my music won't bother other people.   Good comfort is a must. It would be ideal if they could be driven without a portable...

    Best gaming mice

The Naos 3200 has the Avago A3060 sensor which the Logitech MX518 had. The sensor doesn't have any acceleration, but it does have prediction, which means that it will try to interpolate your movements into the way the manufacturer thought it should be moved, typically in straight lines.   When...

    Best gaming mice

I don't know if the naos 3200 is flawless or not sensor wise, few optical mice are. If you like the G9X shape, but want a flawless sensor I have three recommendations: 1. Genius Maurus (Avago A3090, which the Logitech G400/G400s uses a modified version of, the Avago S3095)) 2. Roccat Savu...

    Best gaming mice

It's a laser mouse, so there would be mouse acceleration that you can't remove.   Can you list some mice that you have tried, and brief impressions of how they felt wrong in your hand? I can probably recommend you some good things to try then :)

PS4 vs XBOX ONE (What would you buy and why? No fanboy like comments please)

rFactor is a real racing sim, and it's PC exclusive. Gran Turismo and Forza just pretend to be racing sims.

PS4 vs XBOX ONE (What would you buy and why? No fanboy like comments please)

This is why I don't bother with consoles any more .

    vinyl rip vs cd

The Accurate Rip database is maintained by the creator of dBpoweramp, but he makes it openly available to other programs. EAC is harder to set up than dBpoweramp, so that could be why you're getting differing results. The reason item 2 lists the extension as wav is because EAC is adding the...

    Best gaming mice

The place that normally breaks is the scroll wheel. The side buttons also feel very cheap. Mine went bad on me in a few months, and plenty of people I know had a similar experience.   Then there are people like you who don't have such problems. Really seems to be about a 50/50 split.

Why do no audiophiles listen to electronic music?

Because the kind of people that listen to those genres of music probably buy Beats.   Bazing!

    vinyl rip vs cd

I don't bother with Vinyl because: 1. A lot of things aren't available in Vinyl 2. With dBpoweramp, you get FAR better ripping support with CD's.

    Would you recommend Half-Life and/or Half-Life 2?

They're both must plays.   You can also get mods for HL1 to put the HL2 weapon sounds in there, which makes the sound much better.

Games with best sound design...music and sound effects?

Came in here to post this.   Also, Amnesia: The Dark Descent. You have to edit the .ini file to get surround sound working, but it really makes a huge difference in that game. If you played that game on mute it wouldn't even be half as creepy.

PS4 vs XBOX ONE (What would you buy and why? No fanboy like comments please)

I'm sticking exclusively to PC.   Microsoft has just come out and said that all of their first party titles will come to PC. I've never cared much for Sony's exclusives as I consider their blockbuster ones interactive movies.

what are your top 5 RPGs?

Not even remotely. I played Deus Ex for the first time in 2010 and it's one of the best games I've ever played in my life.

what are your top 5 RPGs?

    In no particular order: 1. Planescape: Torment 2. Baldur's Gate 2 3. Gothic 2 4. Morrowind 5. Deus Ex

    Best gaming mice

First of all, if you care about sensor accuracy, AVOID ALL LASER MICE.   Laser sensors have built-in +/- acceleration that CANNOT be removed. Most of them have prediction as well.   The advantages that laser mice bring to the table are: 1. Insanely high DPI (> 4000) 2. Less fussy about...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Does anyone know if the pin layout is always the same in all Android phones?   I know that for Apple's 4-in layout the ground and mic pins are reversed, but I wasn't sure if ALL Android phones shared the same pin layout.

Creative X-Fi Surround 5.1 (SB1090) - Anyone with gaming experience?

Does anyone have experience using this device for gaming?   This is the non Pro version, and it is supposed to have virtual CMSS 3D and OpenAL support (not hardware accelerated, but this is the best I could find on an external sound card for a laptop).   I was just wondering if the CMSS 3D...

For gaming use: X-Fi Go (non-Pro), Xonar U3, or X-Fi HD?

I've got an O2+ODAC on the way, but I'm looking at my options for gaming audio on a laptop.   As far as I can tell these three are basically my only options (I have no use for the 5.1 out on the X-Fi 5.1 Pro).   I keep reading on these forums that the U3 has "very little gaming support,"...

Purchased Desktop O2+ODAC. Does anyone have experience using that unit with something like the Xonar U3 for Dolby Headphone?

Hello all. I'm just breaking into the audiophile community, so I've done pretty extensive research over the last couple of weeks. I've settled on the O2+ODAC for amp and DAC. I did so because the headphone output jack is 1/4", so I won't be worried about it wearing out, and it has RCA inputs on...
