Well, the one movement that is actually by Mahler is the Adagio.  You are discovering why many conductors refused to acknowledge the 10th (except the adagio) as part of the Mahler canon.

I love them all but I had to vote for the live solo improvisations.  I'm like Patrick Moraz, wqho famously said that he was an "unconditional fan" of Keith Jarrett.   I have not yet heard "Testament".  How do folks here like it?

Another vote for Neal Morse. Especially Sola Scriptura - one of my all-time favorite progressive albums and obviously "Christian".

I have really been enjoying Once and Dark Passion Play with my ER6i's. The Etys are great phones for classical so the more symphonic NW albums really shine on them.

I would have never encountered this band except that my daughter (who attends college in Switzerland) told me about them after her Finnish friends introduced her. As someone new to the band, I think the new singer is an improvement, albeit with a very different style. The old stuff is good too -...

Some of the musical motives from the old Star Trek series sound like they were lifted from Mahler's 7th.

I have all three and love them all. The Bach and Mozart have a lot of period-style recordings. Whether that's good or bad depends on your point of view of course.

Does anyone own "The Kaplan Mahler Edition" featuring the Kaplan M2 on Conifer? I'm talking about the one with the M5 Adagietto, Mahler piano roll recordings, and other features. Anyway: I just bought it used on amazon, and I can't seem to access the photo gallery supposedly contained as a CDROM...

Two questions for the Ety experts here: 1. Would you comment on the sonic differences between the Er4p and ER6i? 2. Are the tips interchangable between these two phones?

I own both SE530s and Etys. I think the real issue is that, after listening to one for a while, the other sounds dramatically different until you get used to it. Both are excellent, and equally valid approaches.

Doc's an ER-6i owner, and a former ER-4S owner. I will soon be an ER-4P owner.

This recording is a lot of fun. Not exactly like the old Gould per se (the difference is no grunts - the notes are identical) but a briliant binaural Goldberg for headphooes. No problems ripping the CD layer to iPod. I'd love to see other applications of this technology.

I agree that the recent vinyl version is better, but this MFSL CD is the best CD version available.
