Bowers & Wilkins PI7
I bought a set of PI7 for my daughter. Like some others here, she faced constant connection problems. It happened with the first pair and also with the replacement set. Constructing a good sounding earphone is one thing, writing good software for it is a completely different thing (this also...- dr.morton

Cowon A3 60G
THe A3 has no real line out, so using a headphone amplifier is only possible over the headphone out. The A3 line out is a mixture of audio and video out.- dr.morton

Cowon A3 60G
It is a good player you'll hopefully enjoy. It's lack of h264 MP support and its short battery life (compared to the A2) are sadly a dissapointment. But the screen is much better then on the old A2.- dr.morton

Cowon A3 with a Pico amp?
If it has the same line-out as the A2, an amp will not improve the sound quality of the A3. I know because I tried. I have no amp at hand at the moment so I cannot try out my A3 in this regard. The only benefit of an amp with the A3 would be the wider selection of headphones you are able to use.- dr.morton

imod overrated?
I owned the Cowon A2 and now the A3. Although they sound very good out of the box, I found them no match to my iMod+Tomahawk. Maybe its my UE-10pro which made the difference, I do not know. But if I say they Cowon is no match, I speak of subtle differences. Most changes in a audio setup...- dr.morton

iMod or Cowon Q5W?

Anyone have experience with Harmon Kardon?
I bought a receiver and DVD player and I am not impressed with either machine. The DVD 22 has a lot of problems, my first AVR 135 died quickly and it took HK two months to replace it.- dr.morton

iMod or iTouch?
It depends on what you your needs are. I recently sold my iMod and amp to get a Touch. The iMod was a great sounding DAP but had no chance against my SACD player at home. The setup was too bulky for my tastes so there were only few occasions where I took the iMod to the road. But for SQ alone...- dr.morton

Diablo's are Surfacing!
How about someone with a dead Diablo is sending his/her amp to Phil LaRocco and have him take a look inside? There must be a way to remove the cover or battery replacement would not be possible! It would be interesting to see if it truely is the amp he was designing and if the "only the...- dr.morton

Dissuade me from getting the iPod touch (Apple-haters welcome)
I owned the Cowon A2 and loved it. I sold it when I heard that the A3 would be available soon and that it would support more codecs then before. Sadly the A3 is still not here and for around 599$ I am no longer sure I will. One of the biggest problems with all my loved players (either the A2 or...- dr.morton

Dissuade me from getting the iPod touch (Apple-haters welcome)
Quote: No removable battery, which means you're throwing $400 at something that will simply not function in 2 years. ??? The iPod touch battery can be replaced through Apple like any other iPod. It is 10$ more expansive but it can be done!- dr.morton

Would you NOT buy an iPod because of what they stand for?
I have never been an Apple lover but came to love their products when I gave them a try and found out that they truely support my needs. I love iTunes because it is so easy and simple to use. I put in my CD and voilà, it's in my library. After having used my iPod (iMod) for some time I even...- dr.morton

Diablo's are Surfacing!
Quote: As I pointed out earlier, the Diablo's sound was designed by Phil Larocco and I do not understand why he should be penalised - in the event no one is not allowed to talk about the Diablo ? This is not about Phil. He has proved many times that he is a very capable amp designer...- dr.morton

Well...My Larocco PRII MK2 arrived today
Quote: Too bad they're impossible to find used. And when they do pop up used, they cost you just as much as a LisaIII. There are PRII's in the for sale thread on a reglar basis. They are not as common as a Tomahawk or Hornet but if you can wait a bit they show up eventually.- dr.morton

Meier Move - Sold Out/Discontinued?
My guess is that with all the bad feedback concerning the DAC section of the Move and the many upcoming new amps like the Pico or the Predator selling the Move must have become rather difficult.
