Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

I have the Argon MK2's (well the Argon version of the Mass Drop T-X0) and I use them for just about all of my gaming. They aren't completely closed, but they isolate better than anything I currently own. I do not like them though for Call of Duty MW. I use the ATH-AD700X mostly, but sometimes...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Massdrop is dropping Mr Speaker Ether CXs tomorrow. I currently game on either Phillips X1 or M1060 primarily via Xbox with MixAmpTR or ATH-AD700x for competitive. I do have an O2/ODAC also. Would the Ethers be a worthwhile pickup and retire the others?

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

My personal opinion is Xbox is kinda tough. I think most would say the Soundblaster X7 is the best surround capable amp/Dac. I use a MixAmp TR (I don’t have that metallic sound some complain of) which gets rid of the extra cable needed for chat like the MixAmp Pro 2013. Competitively I will use...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

I used to use the Pro, till my son dropped it and the chat stopped working. Everything else works, but no chat. So I no longer use it except when I'm playing single player games on my laptop, sometimes. That being said, for the Xbox One, the TR goes away from having to have another cable...

Best Open Headphones for Gaming? $300-$500

I tend to agree. I've got AD700, M1060, X1 (not the X2's), HD6xx, and Fostex T-X0. The X1's and M1060's are 1 and 1A for me for 90% of the time. Since my modmic sticky part fell off the M1060's, I reach for the X1's more, just because ease of use with the VModa boom pro. If I don't need a...

Audio Technica AD700x, Modmic 4 and Mixamp setup

I've used a MixAmp Pro 2013 and moved to the TR version on my Xbox. I've heard some people complain about that tinny sound too. I've not had those results on my TR. Did you make sure to update the firmware and everything on the mixamp? If you've done that already, maybe try and return for...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

I use the MixAmp 2013 and the new TR version listening to game audio from my XboxOne and using the Aux from my PC to listen to music or listening to streaming TV. Works just fine. I'd love have an X7, but this solution works.

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Purely based on competitive gaming; what's the skinny on the Audio Technical AD700X, AD900X, or AD1000X? Purely for gaming and positional audio in FPS, I've heard the AD700X is good, $50 more for the AD900X, then jumping up to double the price of 900's to get the AD1000X. I'm not looking at...

New Gaming Reccs - Coming from AD900X to (possibly) HD598

I know this is a little old, but I came across you post trying to decide between AD700X, AD900X, and AD1000X. Looks we're trying to opposite sound signatures. I currently have the Phillips X1's(X2 is the newer version) and Monolith M1060. Both have good sound stage and are fun sounding with...

Philips Fidelio X2 with AV Receiver, Sound Card, Mixamp, or DAC?

I think the X7 is overkill for consoles. The mixamp is nice because of being able to adjust game/chat balance. You can also daisy chain the mixamp to another amp if you need to by using a y connector out of the mixamp headphone out and run into the amp and then into headphones. That being...

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

Can someone explain to me or link me a video on how to remove the stock pads? I've got a set of the vegan pads, but my first set of headphones I'm trying to mod and I really don't want to screw them up.

Monoprice Monolith M1060 and M560 Planar Headphones

Where are you guys finding the vegan replacement pads? Everywhere I've looked is sold out or back ordered indefinitely.

Wireless gaming headsets as good as Fidelio X1 ?

It really depends on where I'm playing LOL.  My main Xbox I have it hooked up to an Astro Mix Amp Pro.  My other Xbox (Kids) I run straight out of the controller (When not using their LS20).  My desktop PC has a Sound Blaster Z card in it.  My laptop depends, sometimes straight out of the...

    Planar headphones for gaming.

Does anyone have experience with planars for gaming? I've currently got X1s but the planars have been intriguing me for a while. I've got a MixAmp and O2/ODAC so I'm not worried about driving them. In particular Im looking at HiFi-400s or the new Monoprice 1060.

Wireless gaming headsets as good as Fidelio X1 ?

I use the X1s for my normal gaming. For Xmas I bought a set of the Lucid LS20s for my 7 year old. I'm extremely impressed with them. Though I haven't tried the LS40s, if the lower priced option of them shows what the top end is like, I would definitely recommend.

    Broken Objective2+ODAC Power Port

Cancel that!  Tyler is sending me a new replacement part.   FWIW, I think the part is Kobiconn 163-4021.

    Broken Objective2+ODAC Power Port

Does anyone know a part number I can use to order to replace my broken AC power port on the O2/ODAC?  This one is from Mayflower Electronics and the part number from NwAvGuy's part list is not the same.  Mine mounts in the rear of the enclosure and has only two wired contacts instead of three...

Astro MixAmp 'Mixed' Reviews (Pun Intended)

I must have been fairly lucky?  I have a 2015 version and I've had no issues.  No hissing, nothing like that.  I use on both my 360 and One.

    Xbox One Setup

I run Phillips X1's with an Astro MixAmp Pro.  I use a VModa Boom Mic Pro for a mic.  The only downside is that I have wires across the floor when I play in the living room.  For me, it's no big deal.

Philips Fidelio X2 with AV Receiver, Sound Card, Mixamp, or DAC?

I'm guessing most people will want to know your budget too.   Personally I have the X1's and run two different setups.  For my XB1, I use a MixAmp Pro for both watching movies and gaming (Primary use).  I have a VModa BoomMic Pro always attached to the head phones.  When I'm on my PC, where I...

Needing suggestions for new XBoxOne headset.

For it's worth now months later; I use the Phillips X1's with the V-Moda Boom Pro Mic.  I've used the X1's from the adapter with no issues.  I've also used the X1's with the Astro Mix Amp (Xbox360 setup) which does give the headphones more volume but also more wires across the floor.

Phillips Fiedlio X1 + BoomPro Mic and Xbox 360

I've been using my Phillips Fiedlio X1's from the output of my Turtle Beach X41's. I picked up a BoomPro Mic so I can continue to use the X1's while playing Destiny. I bought a 3.5 MM to 2.5 MM adapter to plug into the xbox 360 controller and using the Y connector supplied with the BoomPro...

    Some questions before I buy - Fildelio X1 - Astro Mix Amp Pro (2013) - V-moda BoomPro

How's your combo work?  I'm looking at a similar setup (X1, VModa Mic) for my Xbox 1.

Turtle Beach X41 Base station Headphone output Jack

Since I've gotten two sets of headphones to try out, DT990 Pro and Philips X1's, I've been using them hooked up to the head phone jack on the RF transmitter or base station of the X41's for my XBox 360.  One thing I'm not sure of is that outputting stereo only?  I haven't had time to mess with a...
