From memory, i don’t dislike the sound of the HD800S but I’ve never heard detail & timbre, like the Focal’s. As I said, will be trying them again, when I’ve hit the 1.000 hours mark, with the Focal’s.

When I’ve reached 1.000 hours on my Focal Clear MG ( Under 300 hours to go. ) i will try out my HD800S again. From memory, they’re not as good as my Focal’s, but I’ve only got the stock cable.

I think it is a one off, given the price. The average consumer was not going to buy this product. I’m just relieved to have got my player fixed, when the chances of it seemed unlikely. I have both, but for audio quality, the DMP-Z1. M30, still a very good audio device, that is very versatile.

I’ve clocked up 200 hours of listening now, since purchasing a month ago.

I own the HD800S, which I like, but i don’t think the fit was designed, for a human head, so whatever it is, can they make sure it’s for a human being !

There’s always this debate about cables making a difference & cables not making a difference & i don’t think I’ve ever come to any definite conclusion ??

Let us know what you think, compared to stock cable, please ? I will very likely order a pure silver cable.

Glad you’re liking the combo. I haven’t compared them, other than going by memory. I want to clock up 150 - 200 hours, with my MG’s, before i try to compare them. The Focal’s, do have a slam to them.
