In need of something with SUB OUT and class AB amplifier DAC AMP (or similar with usb)

Good day, I'm in the search for a dac or a mini stereo which accepts usb, but also having outputs for driving bookshelf speakers, a sub out for also a bookshelf woofer. There are many but not many specify that they use a class AB amplifier (most are D) The only ones that I came to find was...

    Sony's DSD-capable PHA-2 portable headphone amp/DAC

You just need patience. Batteries like this can even be bended moderately, however, avoid at any cost any puncture on them, as they will get into flames because of the lithium.

    Sony's DSD-capable PHA-2 portable headphone amp/DAC

Calm down :), I haven't had the need to reeplace the battery. and it has been quite over a year of continuous use. To open the PHA2 you simply need a philips screwdriver. there are 8 screws that you can easily see on the unit. Remove those. There is another screw hidden beneath a circular black...

    Sony's DSD-capable PHA-2 portable headphone amp/DAC

Yes the battery has a label in it, as a particular note I must say, it is glued to the plastic holding it, so removing it will take patience.

    Sony's DSD-capable PHA-2 portable headphone amp/DAC

You can swap the battery for a new one. I opened my PHA-2 once and saw the battery in there with only a connector towards the pcb.

    Sony PHA-3 balanced portable dac/amp

The pha2 does exactly the same, no difference as I mentioned some post before. You can use the Walkman port as any other USB port, then have it connected to the ac by using the normal USB port.

    Sony PHA-3 balanced portable dac/amp

It is incredible how little is really known about the PHA2, for example, you can use the Walkman port as any normal USB connection... And therefore connect the z2 to that port and the PHA2 to mains through the pc charge port. If low on energy, the pha2 will continue to operate while connected to...

    Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model

I was trying to use the xba-h3 as reference as I like them a lot, however I got the AKG K550 and they sound superb, also Sony is launching the pha3.. But God, what happened to the awesome design pha2 had.... http://www.andaudio.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=&t=123060

    Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model

So far in my test.... it doesn't. if anything, prolongs quite a lot the battery of my xperia z2. The battery life of both F886 and ZX1 must be really low, as in my test I can get easily 3 hours by only consuming around 17% in my phone (bluetooth and 4g on!!!), amplifier remains at 6+ hours...

    Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model

That prong in there does nothing, I can connect my xperia 2 to that port no problem and doing this the xperia avoids charging the pha2, making the pha2 to use its own battery.

XBA-H3 IEM.... over the ear headphone equivalent?

Good day guys, what, in your opinion, would be sound quality wise, comparable with the XBA-H3? (edit: with this I mean what would be comparable with a hybrid 12mm driver plus mid and high balanced armature) this is to pair it with a PHA-2... and the XBA-H3 are nice but I would try something...

    Pictures of Your *Mid-Fi* Portable Rig ($200 - $600)

Honestly speaking... like a dream, then again, sound is very subjective :D (surely better than my F886 though)

Walkman NWZ F886 officialy announced!! [192khz/24bits]

Use power amp and it's integrated eq, that thing really works wonders (using my XBA-H3 I had to reduce a bit the bass and increase the mids a tiny bit, the effect was astounding)

You can just use the buttons with other players alright.

Of course it does, I really enjoyed it quite a lot while not having an amp coupled to it.

    Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model

The only thing that I found is that aparently is more software related than hardware related on XDA, so the thing is to import new features from newer devices like the z2 to older devices. I had to sell my xperia ultra for that same reason... which in all honestly, wasn't that bad because the z2...

    Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model

Just hold on a sec, the PHA-2 only works with OTGs that have the asynchronous protocol in it, namely, xperia Z2 onwards, it doesn't even works on the Z Ultra nor Z1 at the moment. Z2 however, as I have it with me, turns out to be one of the best experiences in audio that I've had, highly...

    Sony's DSD-capable PHA-2 portable headphone amp/DAC

At least in the Xperia Z2 it says that all android audio adjustments are disabled, but you can counter this using for example poweramp or any other player that has built in equalizer.

    Sony's DSD-capable PHA-2 portable headphone amp/DAC

Not at all, but that might be because I disabled the sounds while pressing buttons on the phone (the pha 2 likes to turn down itself if it doesn't receives audio continuosly), by the way, use power amp, far better than the walkman application and you can also use the equalizer that it is built in.

It's on my sig ;), but basically, the Xperia Z2, PHA-2 portable amplifier, SBH-52 bluetooth headset, XBA-H3 balanced armature headphones.
