Hi Davy, Thanks a lot for adding the double-click for next track a few updates ago, much appreciated!

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Any plans to add double/triple-click for next/previous track when using headsets with an inline mic button?  It does pause/play currently with a single-click.  I know that there is an option to use the hardware volume buttons to change tracks, but there's not option to use mic button...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Revert back to 4.4.4? I'm staying with 4.4.4 on my Z3 Compact partly because of the lack of the Hi-Res USB audio out. That option is still gone in the just released 5.1.1 update. From what I've read of the 5.1.1 update, it fixed some stuff from the 5.0.2 release, but there's still some bugs...

    Android phones and USB DACs

I'm actually streaming from my Z3c to an AptX car receiver (Kinivo BTC455).  The stuttering issue was caused by the Xperia Throw service constantly polling for other BT devices.  The solution was to disable the Xperia Throw service.  You can do this without rooting the phone.  I found the...

    Android phones and USB DACs

I've got a Z3 Compact (D5803) running stock 4.4.4 and Walkman App (8.5.A.3.2) with a DragonFly 1.2 and it changes colors properly with all 4 sample rates, 44kHz:green, 48kHz:blue, 88kHz:amber, 96kHz:magenta so it doesn't do any resampling.  I normally use UAPP with the DF because there's no...

    The Xiaomi Pistons Thread 2.0

I have personally tested the Pistons on a Lumia 620 and the mic and volume buttons all work.  Someone else posted that all the buttons work on the Lumia 820.  Not sure about other models.

I also have a Z3c (D5803) and the only way to connect it is via the headphone jack to the Fiio E12A is to use a short M-M 3.5mm cable that is probably included with the E12A, not sure, I don't have an E12A but my E07K and E17 both included a short M-M 3.5mm cable.  You will be double-amping...

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR

So I finally got my SB Omni from the black friday sale.  Good: SBX works and is different than DH, ASIO and WASAPI playback in foobar2000 "kind of" works and doesn't completely freeze my PC when it can't handle it (like my old X-Fi Titanium).  Bad: It doesn't support 44.1kHz?!?! What?!?  I did a...

    The Xiaomi Pistons Thread 2.0

@thatBeatsguy   Wow, didn't realize there was another thread for the Pistons.  A suggestion if I may, I've got an Android button compatibility list running here http://forums.redflagdeals.com/ibuygou-com-xiaomi-piston-earphones-23-us-shipped-1495771/18/#post19153961 that may be helpful for...

    Android phones and USB DACs

I just upgraded from a Galaxy S3 to Xperia Z3 Compact so I have some more data points for DanBa to add to his list.   Sony Xperia Z3 Compact (D5803) w/stock Android 4.4.4   Audioengine D1: WORKS with PowerAmp, Walkman Music app, & UAPP (recommend external USB power source to power the D1)...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

The HD598 by themselves may not have recessed mids but comparing them side-by-side with the Annies (via Y-spitter cable on Asgard 2 with AudioEngine D1 as DAC, and flipping the volume up and down to level the volume while switching back and forth for comparison as best I could) they sound...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

I've got the HD598 and K702 65th Annies.  Comparing them side-by-side with music, the HD598 is more V-shaped (more bass & treble, less mids) sounding than the K702.65.  Also, I think the bass on the HD598 is looser than the AKGs because sounds kinda distorted compared to the AKG.  At least I...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Yup, I've read that WASAPI over SPDIF works on the SB Omni and it works on the USB X-Fi Surround 5.1 (non-Pro), just not on my X-Fi Titanium.      WASAPI over SPDIF works perfectly fine on 3 different Realtek onboards that I have tried (ALC888, 889, 892).     I also tried the native...

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)

Like others have mention, yes, this will give you Dolby Headphone over optical, but if you're going to use a Modi as you DAC and Magni/Vali as the amp, then there is no reason to blow money on a STX.  Just get the much cheaper Asus U3 or DGX as you are only using the soundcard for the virtual...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Here's a picture of the L15 cable with my E07k.  The cable is fairly short (70mm excluding connectors & strain relief) and is a mini-USB to micro-USB OTG cable so I just stack it with my S3 and run this cable.  You connect it straight from amp/dac's miniUSB port to the phone's...

    Android phones and USB DACs

Fiio E07k and E17 also work well with my S3 (SGH-i747m) and are cheaper than the Fiio E18.  Just turn off USB charging on the Fiio so it doesn't suck extra juice out of your S3.  You will need to buy a USB OTG cable (Fiio L15 USB OTG cable) since it's not included in the box like the E18 does.

Creative Sound Blaster new series Z, Zx & ZxR

I apologize if this isn't quite the right thread since it's more of a SB Z thread but has anyone got that above setup working on a X-Fi Titanium (SB0880)?  I'm trying to get either WASAPI or ASIO drivers in foobar to work with the SPDIF output of my X-Fi Titanium and all I end up with is a...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

That option does not exist under the regular Windows Sound Control Panel.  The closest thing I can find is within the Creative Audio Control Panel: Creative Audio Control Panel>SPDIF I/O>Play Stereo Mix using Digital Output I tried ticking that option,   then in foobar2000: ASIO...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

Passing through the CMSS-3D through SPDIF works fine on my X-Fi Ti since it's using the default Windows DirectSound driver.  That's not the problem I have, it's the 2nd part where I'm trying to use foobar2000's WASAPI drivers (for regular FLAC stereo music playback) AND doing the pass through...

The Nameless Guide To PC Gaming Audio (with binaural headphone surround sound)

All this talk about the Omni has got me curious enough to want to try SBX now.  Before I go buy one I've got a question for current owners.  Does the Omni work with WASAPI and/or ASIO drivers over it's SPDIF Optical output?  I know most people use it as is, or maybe hook up an amp to the RCA...

Look for "Fiio L15" OTG cable, should be ~$10USD.  It's not a fancy hand made cable using Fairy Dust(tm) enchanted wires but it works on my E07k/E17 & Galaxy S3 & N7-2013(CM11).

I notice that the Canadian list isn't full yet.  If you still need testers north of the border I'm willing to volunteer.  I've got a pair of K702 65th Annies just begging for the BoomPro.  I've been using the BoomPro on my removable cable modded ATH-AD700 currently.

    Android phones and USB DACs

I'm confused.  I got that email in my gmail account too.  Does that mean they're adding USB Audio support by patching Android 4.4.x/4.5.x or do they consider the new Android L (aka Android 5.x) as the patch?  For some of the older phones like my Galaxy S3 I don't have any hopes of Samsung...
