Wow! Very interesting solution... Question for you: the KDEs come with a custom leather case and a form fit foam cutout holder/ cable winder - how do these ear hooks interact with the foam? Can you still use the foam with these? Did you need to modify them to fit in the case?

For Halloween: Re-animating the JVC HA-RX330

Slick JVC can design - L: cans pivoted out; R: cans pivoted in. Pads are also angled in fore/aft, this shows wider back side Combined with ultra-low weight, overall comfort is excellent. I'm betting pads are standard size/easily upgradeable as well. Only thing missing is a nice sheepskin wrap...

For Halloween: Re-animating the JVC HA-RX330

L: Koss wiring looks perfectly factory through JVC wire leads. Koss volume control a plus; R: Another look at the "naked" Koss drivers; notice the slightly angled driver offset within the housing

For Halloween: Re-animating the JVC HA-RX330

L: Very good looking body upon which to graft a new BRAIN (notice JVC and Koss logos together); R: Attractive and terrific Koss Titanium drivers "naked" through JVC spider supports

For Halloween: Re-animating the JVC HA-RX330

So, for Halloween, I decided to do a small audio project - to BRING the DEAD back to LIFE! Perhaps worse than dead, take a dull, lifeless sounding headphone and turn it into a real killer... The Victim: I found a clearance JVC HA-RX330 at my local Fry's for the undead price of $4.99! I snatched...

    Deal Alert!! .......Polk hinged wireless

Hi - I just wrote a quick review of the Hinge on the other thread (I don't know how to cross-connect them) A STEAL at $15, and superb if you EQ down the bass below 60hz...

Found the Polk On Ears "Hinge" headphones at Best buy for 40 dollars.

A hilariously unexpected update: these Polk Hinge headphones are simply spectacular for listening to... College Football Marching Band recordings! My example is "Hail To Thee - The Cal Band Centennial Recording 1891-1991". I find marching band recordings tend to run thin, and rarely capture the...

Found the Polk On Ears "Hinge" headphones at Best buy for 40 dollars.

No kidding, I just picked up a pair of these Polk Hinge headphones for $15 on Craig's List - wow! Extremely high quality headgear - leather ear pads, leather top trim and plush padded leatherette where it touches your noggin. Machined aluminum joints, and an air of quality about them. All told...

REVIEW: Koss KTXPRO1....an awesome portable headphone!

You're right - I should have said "identical driver housings and plastic grilles." And yes, the PortaPro's use clear mylar drivers (same as the KSC35), while the KSC75's have metal-coated drivers (similar to the KTXPRO1, with different housings). interestingly, all three drivers have identical...

REVIEW: Koss KTXPRO1....an awesome portable headphone!

Greetings,   I found a pair of these KTXPRO1's  in the desk drawer! Apparently my wife had bought a pair of these a few years ago, and forgotten about them... the pads had disintegrated, but the rest of the unit was in pristine condition.   So, I have a secret for you with these KTXPRO1's -...

    monoprice 9927 earphone any good?

I owned the silver version a few years ago, and seemed to recall they were large, with some finicky placement issues, but sounded good for the price once they burned in - I wound up giving them to my son to "get him started in the right way."   Turns out an ad just popped up from Monoprice on...

Update to my last post: Three months later, I have some pretty good other headphones (Pioneer SE-A1000, Sony MD-VR6, Koss Nighthawks <my name for Portapros with the Kramer mods, plus Parts Express headband> and Koss Blackbirds <KSC-75s in Nighthawk configuration>) and I still just can't listen...

Greetings, As I mentioned on the sister thread here, I just picked up a pair of brand new, in box Koss KDE250's for,  $50 on eBay.  Initial impressions:   - upon opening the box, I was struck by the very high quality feel of the entire unit - the leather case, the custom foam "wrapper" to...

    Koss KDE/250

Kind of thrilled - I just scored a pair of these on eBay - like new, open box - for $50 - I've been interested in the tech, but as several of you have eluded to, "price was a barrier" - but not here!  Once I get these and break 'em in, I'll come back with a review...

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.

Koss KSC75's. Dont Forget This Giant Killer in all the ''Hidden Gem'' Hype.

OK, so I've got a win-win on the "Franken-Koss" discussion here - I've been reading these threads on the KSC-75, (purchased about two weeks ago - wow!) and also a longtime owner of the Koss PortaPro... so for the record,  the Portapro, Sportapro, and KSC-35 all share the same driver - a bit...

Official 2014 SF Head-Fi Meet, July 19, 2014, DoubleTree San Francisco Airport

Fascinating that you mention that, as I had experienced the same thing in my listening, but yet hadn't found the words until you just wrote them - my take from my earlier review was that they simply excelled in less complicated music.. but the converse is true (not the shoe) - that under higher...

Official 2014 SF Head-Fi Meet, July 19, 2014, DoubleTree San Francisco Airport

Hah!  None - My SE-A1000s are as pristine as a baby's bottom (translation: I was afraid to mess around with 'em...  ;-)  )  Besides, they sound so good, I can't say I've felt the need to modify 'em.  they even have the factory strap settings, so folks can see how floppy the original...

Official 2014 SF Head-Fi Meet, July 19, 2014, DoubleTree San Francisco Airport

Greetings Guys,   I was sooo bummed I couldn't make the South Bay show - I'm Makin' this one!    As previously planned, I'll be bringin' my ABC kit (Awesome But Cheap) for beginners - Pioneer SE-A1000s, Sony MDR-V6s, and my latest find, Howard Leight Sync Earmuffs, with my poor man's FLAC...

Greetings! Just saw the posting for this event - great news! Pioneer SE-A1000 (Sennheiser HD 650 for $45?)

Greetings - quick update on my earlier post - with about 20 hours on these Pioneers now, I can add a bit more descriptive inputs to the thread.   They do complex wave signals well (i.e., lots of instruments and voices) but they really come in to their own with simpler music, primarily...

    Pioneer SE-A1000 (Sennheiser HD 650 for $45?)

Had to add a great story to this thread - I only recently became a newbie headphone audio enthusiast, having a good friend convince me to spring a whopping $60 for a JDS Labs cmoybb headphone amp to mate with my Koss Portapros and portable FLAC player. "I never knew it could be so good" and...

Review by 'DozerCSX' on item 'Philips in-Ear Headphones Crystal Sound SHE9620/28 (Rose Gold)'

Reposting my original review from Amazon.com - these headphones are just too good to be left in the dustbin of history - for instance, I just bought a pair of Monoprice MEP-933, listed everywhere (including here) as perhaps the best value in low cost IEMs today - just put them up against these...
