I've listened to the pm-1 & really liked it's smooth treble but did notice that it lacked soundstage width so I suspect the pm-2 to be much the same, although I'm still keen to try out the pm-2. Treble extension = expansive soundstage I guess. Thanks for clarifying.

Out of interest, which headphones do you consider to be great?

In previous pages of this thread some members stated that they will compare the pm2 vs other headphones. Any chance anyone will do a comparison between pm2 vs he400i or he560 anytime soon? Thanks.

Hi, which copper cable did you buy to use with the hd25? And if you swap back the stock cable is there still an improvement in sound just by dampening & loading the hd25 cups? i.e. Is it worthwhile doing the uber mod without cable upgrade?

Thanks for the graphs, the frequency response of the heaven v looks like my preferred sound signature - solid bass with smooth treble without any major spikes. I wonder what the mids sound like?   Also, could anyone explain the difference between the colored lines and grey lines in the graphs...

Tag&rename has a 30 day trial period so you can try it out to compare with mp3tag. If mp3tag does what you need then use that cos it's free.

Tag&rename supports aiff & wav files whereas mp3tag doesn't, last time I used it. I download wav files & prefer to tag them using tag&rename then use dbpoweramp to convert them to aiff, flac, alac, etc. while retaining the tags, album art, etc.

Do you recall what firmware was loaded on the ak120 when you tried it with the se846? Lee mentioned that certain firmware increases the clarity & soundstage of the ak120; I tend to agree with that after loading 1.11 with listrid 2.0. From what I read the se846 already sounds slightly veiled...

I've tried the ak120 and x5 and I like both for different reasons. Had a quick listen to the x5 and found that it had good bass impact with good clarity in the highs/mids with wide soundstage. Unfortunately the size of the x5 is much larger than the ak and its interface takes a while to get used...

There's a trash folder on the ak120 that allows you to recover deleted songs. Connect to your PC, delete the files in the trash folder & do a manual scan. See if that works.

In a quiet environment do you notice an improvement in sound quality when playing wav/lossless EDM compared to 320k mp3 on the ak100?

Based on that my guess is that the official price for the ak100ii on the iriver estore will be $899.

The iriver estore has the ak120ii listed for sale at $1,699. No ak100ii price listed yet. Don't know why au stores are so expensive compared to US pricing. Will have to wait for estores, that ship to au, to get the new aks into stock.
