I didn't know there actually is a programm that can help declip soundwaves and improve dynamic range. https://youtu.be/m7s3rLdWrQ4 What do you guys think of this? Have you heard of this before or even tried it? I mean, there IS a difference between these clips. If that programm did actually...

Which is better - the original master of Damage Done or the remaster? I tried to find differences between the two versions... I only found out that the remaster has 6 dr and the original 7. But I dont really want to buy the wrong version. Can you guys help me out here?

Anyone knows if there is an Insomnium record that sounds better on vinyl than the normal CD? I love this band so much and wish I could enjoy their songs with the sound they deserve. I´m especially eager about Above the Weeping World :)   On another term. This album is amazing:

What Do you guys think is the best Leprous record? I just started listening to them and really dig what they are doing. Tall Poppy Syndrome is my favorite one at the moment. How does Coal sound in vinyl? The CD seems pretty compressed.

It´s pretty decent. I will wait until I heard the whole thing. At this moment it´s not easy to tell if they can keep the quality of their old stuff. But I´ll stay positive.

Sorry about that :D   The Contortionist - Exoplanet     Between the Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect     The Faceless - Planetary Duality     Yep, I actually started to like them because of that album. The first three songs (the whole Autotheist Movement) is some of the...

Just fell in love with some albums...Exoplanet is an intense and beautiful album. Holy moses! Might spend a lot of good hours with that one. The Great Misdirect also is an outstanding record. So much variety and cool ideas. I think I might like it even more than Colors. Anyone knows how it...

This makes me incredibly happy !  He is even considering putting out dynamic versions of other albums if you look at the comments. This is an exciting thing :)   EDIT: If you email him, he will send you samples of the other albums (at least the Inanimate Existance song if I understood his...

So there won´t be a DR10 version of The Flesh Prevails, I guess? :(   On another note, I just discovered these guys. This album is an amazing journey:

Listening to the flesh prevails right now on vinyl...I'm disappointed. Wow this sounds so ******* compressed. I'm not even halfway through and have lost motivation to hear till the end. And the music is so incredibly good and beautiful. I could cry like a baby :(

Was listening to them half an hour ago :D As I dig deeper into the band´s sound, it gets more and more fascinating. Really intense and beautiful music. When I hear music like that, I always have to come back to this song:     It gets me every time      That was ******* badass...

I know and love Neurosis and Ahab. Don´t know much about Catacombs. Thanks, will have a listen :)   And you´re right...it´s time to listen to The Divinity Of Ocean again :D The Giant is an amazing album too, the use of more clean vocals add emotion and variety to the music without feeling...

As I just postet some Cthulhu stuff, one ocean related album and one of my favorite albums ever (along with their second one) came to my mind. They are atmospheric masterpieces in my eyes. Some people say that some songs are boring, but I disagree. There are few albums I love more listening...

Thanks for the recommendation - will check it out !   But I´m a bit curious now...what do you think of Swalloed By The Ocean´s Tide musically? I really quite dig some of the songs

This actually would be an example for a band compressing their album on purpose to make it sound like it´s coming from the deep ocean (a member of the band posted this on a forum a while ago). It does make sense if you look at it that way, but I still wish I could hear it in just a...

This is an incredible post. Welcome to the forums :) (well, I don´t know if  I can say something like that as I´m also pretty new to the forums :D )   EDIT: Be´lakor will be releasing Stone´s reach specifically mastered for vinyl soon. Really excited...

I don´t know about you guys, but if i could get my hands on the DR10 version of the album, I would be pretty satisfied with the sound. It sounded good and not over the top loud on my system and I could enjoy the songs (the snipppets).

I think we just have to let go now. Let them think whatever the **** they want to think. It´s pointless arguing with people like that. It would take too much time and energy to convince them that heavy music doesn´t have to be smashed into oblivions to sound powerful. Even if there are great...

Well they even deleted this comment now :D I don´t know if this is always the case on fb pages of bands but I find it a bit disappointing to deal with criticism this way.   Whatever, I don´t care what anyone says on fb. I enjoy the nice and helpful community we have here :)   I´m still...

Quote from Zach about the discussion from yesterday regarding The Flesh Prevails: "While I find it totally asinine to judge an album's merit on a ****ty foobar plugin, I can confirm the vinyl touches DR6 max. If you really want to know "why" it's because we liked it best and it's extremely dense...
