    Question regarding PPA power

Switching power supplies have a lot of high-frequency noise.

    Designing Circuits

Tangentsoft Go to the Audiologica and Electronics sections. There's quite a bit to read there, but it's quite well done. If you're interested in building amplifiers, I recommend the Chu Moy link within Audiologica.

    Op-amp supply for VU meters

You should be more than fine with +/-12V, especially with line-level signals.

MiniVol - Simple DIY PGA2320 Volume Control

I'm actually really interested in obtaining the power supply (I'll buy it now if you have boards). If you ever do implement an LCD screen and remote control for the volume control, I'll put down cash for it as well. I'm interested in replacing the welborne attenuator in the preamp section of my...

MiniVol - Simple DIY PGA2320 Volume Control

I'm pretty interested too. Any chance it'll be remote controlled in the future with LCD display?

franky, I love the case! A mix of modern aluminum with tubes.

To get gain drop i must put resistors before the volume pot, right?..

Do you have a schematic of the circuit? If it's a non-inverting amplifier, there will be (assuming it's a CMoy) 2 resistors that determine the gain of the amplifier. One goes from the output of the opamp to the inverting (-) input of the opamp. The other one goes from the inverting input to...

I implemented additional upgrades to the power supply section of the preamplifier section in my DIY integrated amp: I added numerous capacitors ranging from 0.1uF to 1000uF to the post-regulator power rail (two TREADs create a +/-10.77V DC power supply) and added 2x 3.32K bleeder resistors...

    β24: A discrete, cascoded, fully-differential power amplifier

Extremely impressive figures. I really like the slew rate of 290V/us. I'll be looking into this in the future for sure.

    Bypass Capacitors (signal)

What effects does bypassing signal capacitors in the input stage of an amplifier have on the signal itself? I'm asking because I'm considering bypassing the 4.7uF Panasonic film caps on the input stage of the power amp I built with Obbligato film capacitors. Thanks ahead of time.

I threw in additional upgrades to my DIY integrated amplifier: Overhead shot of the preamplifier section and two power amplifier boards. I added 2x Elna Cerafine 470uF/25V power capacitors to the post-regulation power supply of the preamp. I threw the LM4562NA in the preamp into deep class-A...

    STEPS noise/ ripple AC

Also, I think 820mV of ripple would destroy the opamps in the CMoy. I had a bad experience with my first build ever 3 years ago. I used a crappy wall-wart that had too much ripple, which killed my CMoy. Since your STEPS works with your CMoy, I doubt it's producing that much ripple.

TzeYang, that perf-board was from the generosity of the electrical engineering department at the US Air Force Academy (they let cadets use things, so yeah =P, I save a lot of money.). The power supply rails are connected to copper planes on the top and bottom. They can function in limited...

The buffer/preamp section of the integrated amp I built: The big black boxes are solid-state relays for the + and - rails. They turn on when the amp powers on.

Sweet work, Vixr. I need to learn that sort of neatness with wiring and placement. The power amplifier is finally finished, after today's addition of the buffer circuits. No more modifications are in line. Now, there are a total of 8 relays that power on the amplifier/output. The...
