    Why the Beats Hate?

I have no problem with the sound, like I said, it ain't bad, but its their marketing that tells the masses that these are Studio/Production headphones.  "People aren't hearing all the music" Which could mean a lot of things, but also makes people assume they are buying neutral or transparent...

    Why the Beats Hate?

Quote:   Doesn't hurt to try them out.  They should be everywhere to try out.  Dre/Monster is a marketing genius so they'll have dedicated sections for them.  You'll probably be disappointed judging from your collection, but sound is pretty subjective anyway.  IMO they weren't that...

    post your grado mods....

Had my MS1i's for a week and then decided to add single-sided entry detachable cable to make it a bit more portable around the house.    Comfy's are on now but I normally use the reverse 414s.         Still sounds great using some standard auxiliary stereo cable.  No other...

Quote: I picked my pair up a week ago from a TJ Maxx.  Not sure if you have those near you but they had uptown and downtowns in stock.  The uptowns were 50 usd and the downtowns were 30 usd. They're good headphones for the price and feel sturdy and comfy.  I think they're all part of the...

Questions About the Sennheiser HD 598s

Won't hurt to try disconnecting it.  If static is still there then its not the usb.   I think the issue is that the audio ports share the same ground as the usb.

Questions About the Sennheiser HD 598s

If the front port also has a usb interface, disconnect the usb header. I had the same issue.  I'll probably just buy a front plate for usb.

Want to upgrade from my AKG K540, need to be closed/semi-open headphones around €160,-

I think for the price you will probably need to make a compromise or prioritize some of the things you're looking for. Like is detail more important than bass extension?  Or any headphone in particular you've listened to that you like and can use as reference.

Options for some portable/folding on-ears for working out

I currently wear IEMs to workout with, but I was wondering what options there are for some portable on-ears. I really don't have any portable hp right now other than IEMs and KSC75.  I use an ATH a900x for most of my listening at home.  I just picked up some Philips Citiscape uptown and...

IEMs that won't fall out bicycling and sound good, too

I ride motorcycles and bicycles as well.  In my state(VA) it is illegal to use headphones in both ears while operating a vehicle on a public road.  I use helmet speakers for my motorcycle along with earplugs to block out wind.  I've tried using IEMs and found its ok but music in your head is...

Review: Philips CitiScape Uptown (Updated Sept 18, 2012)

I just picked up a pair of uptowns for 50, have about 10 - 15 hours of burn in time so far but I am not impressed by the sound. The volume just feels low and vocals just sound veiled.  You don't really hear some of the details in the vocals.  I'm comparing this to the a900x and the KSC75 and...

    TDK BA200 Thread

Just picked up both a ba200 and the ie800. Some quick impressions: As far as comfort, I think both are very comfortable.  I wear the cable over the ears for both but the ie800 also allows you to wear them down. I really like the flat cable over the ears since it seems to lay down easier...

    TDK BA200 Thread

I think I'm about to go with the tdk ba200. Is the huge Ysplit annoying if you're moving around alot? Has anyone had issues with the lack of strain relief?  or durability issues with the shell?   My other choices were gr07 mk2, r50 and maybe the TDK IE800. I listen to a bunch of music...

Thanks for the response. I'll look around for some R-50, RE-400 and maybe the A161p.   I'm guessing the Brainwavz B2 will have a similar sound as the R-50. How does the UE TF10 sound compared to these considering soundstage, and detail?

Thanks, I've only read about the cable issues and how its inevitable.  From the pictures it seemed exceptionally built.  The rubber coating seems like it would be good in keeping out moisture, at the very least, help it absorb impacts.   Are the high treble frequencies something that can...

I'm brand new to this and I'm looking to buy a new pair of IEMs for listening to in the office and using in the gym. I currently have an ATH-A900x (music and games) and a Brainwavz M5(office/gym).   The M5 is fine for what it is but the only thing I can compare it to is the A900x and it...
