DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

I wouldn't say its necessary, I did it because I like that aesthetic and it helps to hold the para cord in place. its an easy connector to work with has 3 nice soldier pads and the tabs that you crimp down on the cable to secure it. good luck!

    Noise Cancelling Headphones

Hrm I myself have always steered away from active noise canceling( TBH I havent sampled many I always felt like im paying an extra premium when simply being passive noise reducing is sufficient), I definitely understand that long with IEMS can hurt, have you looked into any closed regular...

    Noise Cancelling Headphones

not to be off topic but how loud is your office? I find it hard to believe that with some good closed back headphones or IEMs that you would be able to hear anything aside from the music may be a better option if its not crazy loud...

Can a newbie build a Millet Minimax?

yes exactly the pcb has internal wiring so all you do is poke the leads through the board and put the soldier on the back side and cut off the excess also make sure to pay attention to polarity on the caps and such sometimes its tricky if your new at that sort of thing.

Looks like its time for a recable! its fairly easy to fix if you have a soldiering iron you can go to radio shack and buy a mini jack cut the current wire and wire up the new jack. AKG might repair them for some money but a new mini jack is only like 5$ If your unsure how to wire one up...

    the truth ???

On an ignorance scale of 1-10 10 being the most ignorant..... this guy is just stupid. He contradicts himself and clearly doesn't have a strong grasp of physics. "In general, IEMs sound better than earbuds" but 2 paragraphs before he talks about how smaller drivers cant reproduce bass yet...

i should never have bought headphones

Headphones are MUCH cheaper than speakers, you have to think of the material costs, speakers are big headphones are tiny Ohh and Laxx are you sure that you didnt have one of the speakers plugged in backwards? If you reverse the polarity some of the sound will cancel out where the waves...

Come on - Admit it. Who here has liked Bose at some stage in their lives??

I was raised to hate BOSE, my dad being somewhat of an audiophile used to take me to BOSE stores so that I could compare their custom equipment to our home setup. The home setup was better on all accounts. He has a pair of Rectilinear 3's, I have also since purchased a pair...
