Long awaited Smyth SVS Realiser NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
Forgive me if I am totally mistaken, but why are you using the Dr.HDMI on the output? The whole issue I had was the 8 channel recognition with pc/mac between the Realiser and the multi channel output source, I put the HDMI Detective in between them with a preset EDID and it was then able to...- struggles

The Stax thread (New)
I am just about out the door, I can get better pictures later, these came off an early (702xx) 007, the others are from a new mk2. There is an audible difference between them. edit: the lighter weave is from the early mk1, the heavier is from the newer mk2 , I should have...- struggles

The Stax thread (New)
With the descriptions of the 007 versions mentioned, I do not see much talk about which dust cloth is being used with them? A member here posted about this which led me to take a look at mine, there is quite a difference when comparing the two. I am currently using the thinner cloth with the mk2...- struggles

I´ve been ruined by the Stax SR-009 sound
Quote: I believe that Spritzer/KGilmour have both commented on this, that a modded 727 is their best sounding current production amp, along the lines of a more powerful 323. I prefer the 323 to 727 in stock form, I feel it is a well balanced little amp, especially for $1000 less I...- struggles

I´ve been ruined by the Stax SR-009 sound
Quote: I think many would agree here that the 323s is the preferred current production Stax amp in stock form. I bought mine as a secondary amp and have been pleasantly surprised.- struggles

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Quote: The impressions I have on the 009/007 comparison could not have been better stated than in Asr's mini review. Please note that I am only speaking from my amp experience, not top tier amps, and as you can see, not everyone agrees. I actually purchased the 009's after reading...- struggles

Quote: My wife calls me "Pumpkin Head", I purchased an older pair of 007's and the head pad was completely stretched, I did use the band temporarily, which did work for me. I ordered a new head pad, feels more secure to me but it does stretch fairly close to the band. Think you may have me...- struggles

Long awaited Smyth SVS Realiser NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
Quote: I am currently limited to a desktop setup at home, I have had my Realiser for only about 2 months. I use it every day, music/gaming/movies/etc. This little black box has given me more versatility and enjoyment in my little corner of the room, than any other product I have. My...- struggles

Long awaited Smyth SVS Realiser NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
Hi, You get acquainted with the setup and function of the Realiser pretty quickly. As someone demoing the unit and unfamiliar, it is overwhelming, at least it was for me. I have really enjoyed stereo setups on the Realiser, I will bypass it often, but I always seem to go back to the...- struggles

Headphones collection?
Quote: I really like the 323 as well, I swapped between it and the 727 using the 007/009. I just sent my 727 out to be modded, for now I just have the 323, looking forward to getting the 727 back and taking a listen.- struggles

Headphones collection?
Quote: Hi, I was curious if you have owned an 07? I dive bombed (no pun) into Stax with an 09/727 hoping to ease my mind. I had similar thoughts of acquiring a headphone that could outperform anything else and be done with the search. The thought of collecting less capable headphones...- struggles
