The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

I've moved on from bass-centric, but have enjoyed the clean bass of planars. Its enough for me (after eq)

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Tighter bass. The 82 Pro has enough bottom end and extension for me. The GM seems a bit loose and possibly some interference from the port down low. Not bad, just not as good. I am a basshead, but in the last year find myself pulling back on bass quantity. Even turned off the APTX in favour...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

After a few years of collecting, I now rock 82 Pro's as my daily at work and home (2 sets). I sold my GM200's and will now sell of / pass on most of my other sets that are good, but not as good. Tempted to buy a spare pair or 2, at some point they will be EOL and my current sets won't last...

Review by 'Noone025' on item 'DENON DN-HP700 DJ HEADPHONES'

I'm writing this review based on a 2nd hand set I have just received, perhaps this will help someone else seeing a used set come up, wondering if they are for you... First things first, if you are a basshead / want lots of bass, keep reading. If you want a flat or mild V, read no further, these...

It's hard to compare IEM to cans, most enthusiasts won't compare closed back to open back, they're different. With bass, the amount of boost is personal. Some will see a few more db's as boosted, some feel that is still to flat. I like the GM200 for gaming and general listening. They're not...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

Master and Dynamic Mh40 were 200aud recently, lots of bass. The headband design is robust, but not for big heads. I was rocking MDR1a as daily, now not readily available, v shaped fun cans. Custom one pro can give good bass and don't have as much of the Bayer treble spike that does not agree...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

I have the M100 and LP2. M100 are good, but nothing special. Meze 99 are better IMO. LP2 I find dark but not great for most genre's. I like the Sony MDR1a and M&D Mh40 for bass punch and extension. I've bought a set of used THx00, looking forward to trying these out as a cheap cousin to the...

    Phillips SHP9600

SHP's look to have a stronger upper bass hump, with a steeper slope down from ~100hz, making lower bass particularly weak. For my listening tastes, think the SHP will stay on my list of good cans that don't suit my sound sig.

    AKG K550 or Sony WH-1000XM4

Odd pair to face off. Start with how much bass you want, if you want Bluetooth, open vs closed, etc.

X2HR Lots of bass for an open back.

looks like Sennheiser don't have wired bass headphones ?

Momentum 2 are bassy, not cannon level, more of a low shelf. Not as V shaped as many of the other options I own. I picked up a set of Mh40 cheap on Amazon, looks like they are clearing old models. You may like them for their bass punch.

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

The GM200 are closer to the Meze 99 Neo in Bass quantity. less controlled, but otherwise better for gaming.

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

the mids and highs are clear and flat (see graphs), I expect it has much in common with the sound of the 82's.

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

What are you comparing them to? Like I said, I'm comparing them to bassy options (Meze 99 Neo, Sony MDR1A, momentum 2 wired, etc. Compared to these, less punch.

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

After a bit more time with the GM200, they don't have the bass punch / extension i prefer, but is a good gaming headset (I have not tested the mic). Treble and mids are smooth, bass is boosted, but not as much as I like. Still to get a feel for the sound-stage precision.

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

GM200 arrived today after 7 weeks of waiting, they have been playing against Sony MDR-1 A which were already on my desk. The Sony have more impact / slam and a sharper (but not tiring or sibilant) treble spike. Early impressions are good, I feel Takstars show details nicely. Separately I had...

Takstar Pro 82/GM200 Review, impressions and discussion thread

Jumped on the GM200, thanks. Will be waiting some weeks for them to arrive. Looking forward to comparing them to other flatish with boosted bass fun closed cans in my arsenal. Interested to see if the Rise, Flit and othes turn out to be champs, are we on a one trick pony or emerging player...

Meze 99 Classics Discussion + Impressions Thread

IMO, the 99 Neo (what I have) are a better sounding can, other than bass extension. Highs have more air, mids are cleaner, both are bass boosted, but in a different way. I think the VModa can push more of a bass cannon feel where the 99's are a bit more boomy and loose, but with a overall...

The Hardest hitting Headphones are.. ( "The EXTREME BASS Club")

I'm out of the loop, still rocking my 1st gen Backbeat Pro's for work wireless cans. The skullcrushers were meant to be pretty epic, big passive driver to resonate and get some big airflow. Is there a serious Razor option? I think of them as a keyboard and laptop brand. I guess the first...

    V-Moda Crossfade LP

I recently purchased a set of these, I'm a sucker for a sale...   After reading many reviews I thought I succumb to the sound signature and after playing with the M80s, I was happy they would be well built. I had been looking at the M100's, but couldn't justify the price premium.   They...

The Audiophile Bass Lounge (Basshead club part II)

You dont just whack on a bass knob to make a set of cans to have good bass.   There are many facets to bass; extension, presence, clarity, not overwhelming the rest of the freq, etc.   If you want good bass cans, go for a recommendation from this thread and cross-check it against other reviews.

Interesting you've listed a few models in your list I own and even though I have not burned these in (less than 4 hours on them), I'd happily put them up against a few models you've listed.    Quite a nice model to my sound preference, I'd say you likely got one of the many knock-offs going around.

I have gone back to the VModa M100 which I didn't rate out of the box. sound great to me now. My recent aquisition are WooDuo 2's, not convinced they're brilliantly built, but they have some very nice bass.

    Looking for IEMs for Bassheads

Surprised no one mentioned the VSonic Gr02 Bass ed (unless I missed it). My favourite IEM's so far, they get more time than any of my other sets which include the XB90's (which go beautifully low but could have more punch).    If you are interested in cans, The UE6000 are pretty bass happy...
