Subwoofers: HSU STF-2 vs. Sunfire SDS-12

Thanks for your reply. Suppose I forget the Sunfire, and instead compare a larger HSU model, the VTS-2 MK4, with the SVS PB-1000. Which would you choose and why?

Subwoofers: HSU STF-2 vs. Sunfire SDS-12

Which would you buy, the HSU Research STF-2 or the Sunfire SDS-12, and why?  Suppose the prices were identical (which they are not, the Sunfire is considerably more).  Listening will be 70% music and 30% movies.   Listening room is 19 feet long by 16 feet wide by 7.5 feet tall.  There is plenty...

    "Hear-through" IEMs?

I ordered Comply T-400 Isolation Earphone Tips and Sony EPEX10A/BLK Hybrid Replacement Earbuds.  I read in the Amazon comments that it was difficult to make the Sony tips fit the Monoprices, but that it could be done.  I figured that between those two and the stock tips, that I would find...

Thank you Seekky, they do look promising. By silicon tips, do you mean the tips that come with the headphones?

    "Hear-through" IEMs?

Wow, thanks for posting that thread!  There is a lot of information in there, and I will be going through it.  In the mean time, if anyone has any personal suggestions, please post.  I think my title was not good.  They don't have to be IEMs.  They just need to stay on.  But I don't want a...

    "Hear-through" IEMs?

I know the title is an oxymoron.  What I'm looking for is an in-ear headphone that won't fall out (earbuds fall out of my ears) that sounds like a good IEM, but does not block external sound.  I'm used to the Etymotic sound signature (ER4P, ER6i, MC5).  I am trying to turn over a new leaf and be...

Etymotic MC5 and ER-4P Tips and Filters

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the Etymotic MC5's tri-flange tips and filters are interchangeable with the ER-4P's?

    Soundmagic pl-30 20.00 shipped

I bought these and was very disappointed. They've been promoted here as if they were the "KSC75s of IEMs" but they are nowhere near the KSC75s in relative sound quality. They sound like cheap earbuds to me. With these, you get what you pay for. To put things in perspective, in my opinion...

I just ordered these from mp4nation.net. Can anyone tell me if they have replaceable filters? If not, is there a way to clean out the earwax, etc?

Half-decent IEMs for the Gym and Running

I just read through a couple of headfi threads on these IEMs, and the reviews sound great. They sound like a steal at $21 shipped, so I ordered them. I'll post back and give my impressions. Thanks guys!!

Half-decent IEMs for the Gym and Running

How would you describe their sound in comparison with the Koss KSC75s, which I also own? And how good is their sound isolation?

Half-decent IEMs for the Gym and Running

My depodded IM716s finally died (may they rest in peace) and I need a new pair of IEMs for the gym and for running. I have Etymotic er-4ps which I love, but the microphonics are too great, and plus I'm afraid to ruin them with sweat, etc. I have also used er-6is, and of course the IM716s...

Which has the BEST Sound Quality: The Sony Walkman or the Cowon D2?

I can't locate the Sony S639 with Google. Even Sony's search engine can't find it, on the Sony web site. Is that the correct/complete model number?

Best audio quality player (4GB) for my budget!

After doing a little more research, it seems that the Sansa clip might be the king of sound quality for budget mp3 players. My daughter has one - I'm going to borrow it and try it out. If I really like it, an 8gb model for myself might make a good upgrade for my Samsung!
