Centrance upcoming product for Iphone 5 above and Ipod Touch 5 : Hi Fi SKYN

At this point I'm not wondering if I should just wait until I get my iPhone 6 Plus replacement. I did pay for 2 amp extremes though. How long would my 2nd amp be available for? I wanted to get one for my 6 plus then use the 2nd for the 7.

AudioQuest NightHawk Impressions and Discussion Thread

As I side note I've been using the Nighthawks with the Centrance HiFi-M8 which is a great portable DAC/Amp with my iPhone. The M8 is a brighter amp compared to the V281. The M8 is a great match for the Nighthawk. The sensitivity of the Nighthawks with the M8 portapower=Super loud. :) At this...

Being the OP I think I should add my 2 cents. I currently finished my review of the Violectric V281 and the Nighthawk was one of the headphones I used.   http://www.head-fi.org/products/violectric-hpa-v281/reviews/13835

Egg, I would put the ETHER tied for 3rd with the LCD-3. When you listen to headphones in this top tier, you really need to demo them to decide based on your listening preference. As far as comfort, the ETHERS are #1.

I had the same issue with my review. I believe it could be an average of all reviews.

I just reviews the Violectric V281 http://www.head-fi.org/products/violectric-hpa-v281/reviews/13835 and the Nighthawks were one of the pairings I tested. I agree about the fantastic value but found them on the definite dark end of the spectrum.

Or the soon to be released Violectric V850 DAC. They would match ;) I'm thinking about it for sure. There is a sale on their site right now. 15% off the V281

    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2

Yes balanced on both. The Bha-1 is a great amp. When I went from listening to my Schitt Lyr2 to the Bryston I was shocked how much better the Bha-1 sounded. I had the same reaction going from the Bryston to the Violectic. The V281 has more authority with maintaining a mega low noise floor...

    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2

I just wrote a review on the Violectric V281. It's the best amp I've heard the LCD-2's on.   http://www.head-fi.org/products/violectric-hpa-v281/reviews/13835

Jark, Unless you are using the exact source and DAC there will be different input levels being amplified. The DirectStream DAC I used outputs 2.81 Vrms (+8dBV)/5.3 Vrms (+12dBV) if its set to MAX. If I set the DAC to Low I would probably have to keep the V281 on +6 to +12db. Feel free to...

Sefelt, I've never heard the V281 introduce any distortion. The V281 has a slight tube like warmth, not a bass boost. And yes amps should all be transparent but I feel the V281 is a close as you would want without sounding sterile.

Violectric HPA V281 - Vorsprung durch Balanced (September 2023 Update: Limited Reissue Edition up for preorder!)

I just posted a review on the V281 focusing on the amps versatility with different headphones. I planned on having it done sooner but I had to wait on my HE-1000s and the Nighthawks. If you guys have any questions that I didn't answer in the review just ask. Let me know what you guys think and...

VIOLECTRIC V281     THE SEARCH IS OVER! INTRO After listening to my V281 for a few months with a variety of different headphones and reading the V281 thread, I decided to write a review of the V281’s versatility. Several Headfi members wanted to know how the V281 sounds with a certain...

Feel free to do it that way. Or you can use a baffle and turn the volume up. Again headphone drivers aren't designed to be driven into each other. If you have tower speakers would putting them face to face speed things up? Maybe. I just use baffles on my headphones. Again towels aren't ideal but...
