Custom Art Go One (first DD & wireless!) - Impressions thread
Any impressions of call quality? I love my CustomArt x Massdrop Ei.xx universals, but have not found a good solution for handling calls with them, so they stay home in favor of Jabras.- ggibby

[FiiO UTWS5] True Wireless Bluetooth Earhooks as Usual,Coupled with Independent AK4332 DAC
The TRN BT20s adapter sound fine with my CustomArt XX, but the microphone is so bad callers ask me to 'fix it'. So they get left home in favor of my Jabra 65t, which are brilliant for calls and survivable for music. I will wait until someone has real world experience with these and can report...- ggibby

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
I have the PartsExpress cable with microphone, and one connection is less 'positive' and falls out easily, usually in storage, but haven't fiddled enough to tell if it's cable or pod.- ggibby

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
The stock cable is just stupid, in my opinion - it drags down and disrupts the fit. I'm considering stripping the sheathing, but doubt if it will be much lighter. Trying to find a smooth (not twisted, braided, or sheathed) MMCX cable with no memory wire and no microphone *and* straight...- ggibby

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
Are you inverting the speakers so the memory section goes up & over to hold them? I tried that with the stock tips but the nozzle angle didn't work.- ggibby

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
Yes - very convenient. My advice for anybody ordering the M300 is to also get these wings and a lightweight replacement cable, (my choice: https://www.parts-express.com/talent-ebc-02-replacement-mmcx-cable-with-mic-for-in-ear-monitors--233-188) burn in and rock out. The stock cable has a firmer...- ggibby

Monolith M300 In Ear Planar Earphones
I dug around in my audiobox and came up with these:https://amzn.to/2AfzUSx that are working pretty well so far. I have the Bose-style tips too, but have not tried them, since these fit.- ggibby

RE-Shell Options AAW vs Perfect Seal
I heard back from my Westone dealer, and the reshell fee is $450. Maybe if I get another chance at ES20 or better for <$150 I'll think about it.- ggibby

Master & Dynamic MW07 connectivity
I couldn't deal with the annoyance, especially given how many wired ear/headphones I have with zero connection issues and perfect firmware :-) The MW07 went back, and the Jabra Elite 65t I got for comparison probably will, too. More stuff to charge, software to frown at, problems I can't solve...- ggibby

RE-Shell Options AAW vs Perfect Seal
Thanks! I've bookmarked their site. What I'm hoping to get are Westones, and according to their customer service they will re-shell them. I thought I read somewhere this is only available to original owners..?- ggibby

Master & Dynamic MW07 connectivity
Followup - the MW07 claimed battery life is shorter than most others, and I have not tested with notes, but that matches my experience. This is relevant because the battery level is shown on the 'phone as an icon, and it seems that when the battery level gets into the 30% range, reconnecting is...- ggibby

Master & Dynamic MW07 connectivity
Hey Y'all, I searched the site several ways and did not find a thread dedicated to these, apologies if I missed it. SO, I have a fairly good collection of over-ear and IEMs, but resisted the Truly Wireless because Bluetooth. Black Friday changed my mind and I picked up the Master & Dynamic...- ggibby

Kid Headphone Recommendations
I'm in the same search. (disclaimer - my personal collection runs over 24 pairs of all flavors: IEM, planar, electrostatic, dynamic, Grado, too many amps to admit) Right now my four-year old has an Amazon Fire tablet I've loaded with curated video for air travel, and we discovered that it...- ggibby

LG V10 - activating High Impedance Mode! (Not just AUX mode...)
OK, thanks. I see what you're talking about when using my 80ohm Senn DT770s, but not with the Ei.XX, which Custom Art lists as 60ohm. Connecting a 3.5mm TRS 30cm adapter puts the V10 in Aux mode, which, I've read elsewhere, is the same as High Impedance mode. Assuming the DAC knows what it's...- ggibby

LG V10 - activating High Impedance Mode! (Not just AUX mode...)
So... my Custom Art Ei.XX are 60ohm... does that mean I'm always in AWESOME mode when listening? Sure sounds like it to me. Any way to check/verify?- ggibby

You make excellent points. I still think they should change the headband on the Mo-Fi. Now to decide what to sell... :-)- ggibby

Introducing Lola, a new headphone from Blue Microphones
My girlfriend bought me the Mo-Fis for Christmas right after debut, and I really liked the sound, but the weight of the headband was just stupid. What are the chances of the Lola headband + Mo-Fi becoming the Mo-Fi 2.0? I'd be back QUICK. -G- ggibby

GRADO GR10: Reviews, First Impressions Thread
For anyone who has wondered about custom-molded tips/cushions for GR10/8, behold: I just picked up my Westone custom ported earplugs today, and noticed that the removable filter nozzle looked pretty big, just right to accept the GR10 nozzle. You still need to go to an audiologist...- ggibby

Onkyo teams up with Iron Maiden
No sign of these 30 days before Christmas, which means as a consumer electronics product, its basically a fail. Given their fanbase, the cans will sell whenever they drop, but missing the holiday season is a huge mistake.- ggibby

Need to find SOLID headband for Grado SR225i!!!
Old as this is, I'll chip in - the Urbanears Plattan headband works perfectly with Grado driver cups: Requires a bit a work to extract the headband wiring (though you could try integrating it with the Grado drivers, I s'pose), so have a tiny screwdriver and dykes handy...- ggibby
