So the HD has variable (32 bit digital) volume output? As in it could be used as a preamp (connected directly to a power amp input)? Have you tried that configuration?- Tapetech

Not if you go directly from the HP out into your power amp input (by-passing your preamp). I suggested doing just that back on post #571 (essentially using the HP as a preamp). Let us all know how it sounds.- Tapetech

Quote: No reason why you couldn't drive a power amp (and speakers) with the headphone output signal. In theory, the headphone out may be a bit noisier than a standard line out, but in practice that may not be a factor at all.- Tapetech

I've had a Concero DAC for several weeks now and could not be more pleased with the SQ. Highly recommended. My only minor beef was a $25.25 fee I had to pay the UPS dude that showed up at my door with the package. He said it was a "brokerage fee". He gave a number to call if I had any...- Tapetech
