I can only reply to your first and last question. I have owned two different pairs of the H9i's, and the first pair had some terrible treble, which caused me headaches. The new pair I have is pretty much perfect in that regard, and I've never come across the high pitch that you and others in...- Marsson

Fair enough, I don't have a better explanation to the difference I've noticed, apart from the hardware itself coloring the sound.- Marsson

Good point. I haven't noticed this pair using anything else than aac yet at least. I'll keep an eye on that though.- Marsson

Nah, not placebo. I had to return the previous pair due to extreme fatigue. I'm listening to this new pair in the same environment as I did the last pair, and it is nowhere near fatiguing.- Marsson

Yeah, I find it hard to believe there would be such a big difference between two sources when it comes to bluetooth .- Marsson

Just got a new pair of the H9i's for about 370 euros. This time around I don't have an iPhone X, but a galaxy s8 instead. The treble is far less annoying now as well. The headphones sounds really good now compared to the last time I owned a pair. I got a brutal headache from the treble when I...- Marsson

It's so weird that certain countries have that issue. Here in Sweden I could literally blow my ears out if I wanted to.- Marsson

There was an update to the app today, but it didn't fix the issue where the profile resets every time you turn off/on your H9, which sucks.- Marsson

I doubt it if you're using bluetooth, since it's only using a standard. If you're using a custom equalizer it could be caused by that, or it's simply the song itself that's badly mixed for these specific headphones.- Marsson

That's weird. It's the first time I see someone mentioning distortion with the H9. The H9i's on the other hand seem to suffer from distortion for lots of people (myself included when I owned them)- Marsson

Probably not, but during the few days I had the H9i I had to drastically change the sound with the beoapp, sine my hears completely hated the extremely high treble. I vastly prefer the H9, which I now own again.- Marsson

Do you use Apple Music? If so, click on settings (the cogwheel icon), then scroll down to the Apple Music app and click on it, after that scroll down a bit until you see the "volume limit" tag, and click on that. In there there's a setting for the EU limit. I hope that this helps, because I can...- Marsson

I just noticed something interesting regarding the "low volume" that so many have talked about in this thread. I just recently switched over to Apple Music from Spotify to be able to control the music from my Apple Watch, and when I looked around the options you have for the app itself inside...- Marsson

I got a great offer on the regular H9's at my local mediamarkt, so I went ahead and bought them there for 350 dollars. Well worth it since I didn't feel that comfortable with the H9i's.- Marsson

Interesting to see all those replies from the customer support saying that they're focusing on fixing the distortion and sensor issues. I'll keep an eye on this thread, and if they really ARE fixed I might look into getting another pair again.- Marsson

It might be something with the drivers and iOS, it's hard to do anything more than speculate at the moment. The distortion is there in some songs, but it's not extremely obvious. Try listening to Kiss the Sky by Shawn Lee in spotify, there's some slight distortion in the percussion in the intro...- Marsson

Not really no :P I've been using spotify since its conception, and I have a pretty big playlist with lots of songs that I've added from my computer. It's something wrong with the headphones, and not the service since the H9 didn't distort.- Marsson

I'm using Spotify, with the bitrate and downloads set to max quality. I've tried the music I've bought through iTunes, but I haven't noticed any distortion so far, and it's only specific songs that clip/distort in Spotify as well, which is weird. I'm about 50/50 if I should return them or not, I...- Marsson

I posted that on this very page  But I'm using an iPhone X, and I'm running the H9i in bluetooth mode, and I'm mostly using around 50-60% of the max volume on the iPhone, since anything higher is just too loud. I can't understand how people complain about having to max out the volume...- Marsson
