Back after nearly 2 years, looking for a new pair of headphones (over ear)
Something that works all around. I like the TF10s, but a tad more bass wouldn't be a bad thing. I listen to everything from heavy metal to acoustic guitar hipster music, so it needs to be versatile.- ender323

Back after nearly 2 years, looking for a new pair of headphones (over ear)
God, it's been ages since I've been here. Managed to kick the gear bug for quite some time though. I'm currently running two setups- TripleFi 10s through a Schiit Modi+Magni at home, and Klipsch Image S4s on my phone on the go. I'm looking to get a pair of full size headphones. They'll likely...- ender323

Ubuntu Linux-USB DAC output
Hey all, I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, with a Schiit Modi USB DAC. My sound output has 3 choices- Digital Output (S/PDIF) Built-in Audio Analog Output Built-in Audio Analog Output Schiit USB Audio Device The Analog-Schiit setting works, but the "Analog" confuses me. Could it actually be...- ender323

The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
Quote: The following use the same size Comply tips, and should work-AF12, AF9-BK, CX21P, M11, M16-MT, M21, M31, M9, N8, N9, R1, R12, SP51, SX-31. So any Me-Elec tips for those models *should* work with the Monoprices.- ender323

Reply to review by 'ender323' on item 'Beats Mixr On-Ear Headphones'
Decent review, but I've always found that a more neutral headphone is useful for sound work, as it give you a better view of what is coming out of your speakers. As far as them being "loud" goes, with a good amp, you can drive any pair of headphones far beyond reasonable levels.- ender323

Can you REALLY hear a difference between open-back headphones and closed-back headphones?
Quote: It would be a matter of testing headphones you aren't familiar with. If I blindfolded you, and put a random pair of open headphones on you, which you have never heard before, I don't think you could tell they were open or not.- ender323

Cowon X7 vs X9 vs C2
Quote: I don't think Cowons can do line-out. If you ever want to be able to use an amp, have you considered RockBoxing an iPod Classic? Or just using ALAC rather than FLAC? What's your current setup-if you don't have one yet, an amp+a cheaper player might be better.- ender323

Portable Rig Dilema
Quote: I believe that the iPod Touch 4 and the iPhone 4 use the same DAC chip-a Cirrus Logic CS41L61. The iPod Touch 4 always struck me as a pretty decent source-sounds pretty good, though I prefer the older iPods with Wolfson DACs. While the iPod Touch may "officially" sound better, use...- ender323
