New HE-400i Cable Replacement
This is what I was looking for, thank you :) I'll look into those a bit Thought about using a simple extension for now, which still might happen. But the 90 degree angle on the OE cable bothers me.. Don't ask why but it does lol- peenemunde

New HE-400i Cable Replacement
I did my best, spent a good couple hours pumping around the sites I follow. All the discussions of any relevance are for the original HE-400i cans that used (3.5mm to two 2.5mm) My cans are the updated version, which now uses (3.5mm to two 3.5mm)- peenemunde

New HE-400i Cable Replacement
I just bought a pair of Hifiman HE-400i and immediately purchased a longer cable. Since I usually sit farther from my computer than not, I figured it only necessary to have a cable of good length. Well... I'm sure you're aware of how this went down already.. I got a $20 NeoMusicia Cable from...- peenemunde

Looking for a great 2.1 desktop experience.....? HELP
It's 30 watts per channel unless it's in a specific 2 speaker stereo mode, then the channels are bumped to 40 watts. I think that's what I read anyway :P I'm very happy with the sound! They are exactly would I was looking for sonically. Something accurate and flat with enough nuts to get...- peenemunde

Looking for a great 2.1 desktop experience.....? HELP
Hooked up the Infinity's today :) The AVR rocks them pretty damn good for only 30watts!!! I'm very impressed so far. I plan to tweak and fiddle with the setup a bit and see what type of sound I can get. I can already tell that a subwoofer will only get me in trouble. I listen to my music...- peenemunde

Looking for a great 2.1 desktop experience.....? HELP
I would really like to find something on the classifieds of AVS or something along those lines. I don't mind a used product if it's coming from someone reputable. Shipping would be awfully rough, I bet lol- peenemunde

Looking for a great 2.1 desktop experience.....? HELP
Well, for now as it's intended for my apartment, I won't be getting very loud intentionally. And if it really doesn't perform well it will give me incentive to move my setup into my bedroom :)- peenemunde

Looking for a great 2.1 desktop experience.....? HELP
There is a B-stock SB12-NSD for $599 right now on their website :) As for my livingroom, I would say it's about 15ft X 30ft. Which roughly equates to 5000cuft if my ceiling is 10ft high. Eventually this setup will be going into a much smaller room as I hate having my computer in the...- peenemunde

Looking for a great 2.1 desktop experience.....? HELP
I guess I never put two and two together before looking into the Hybrid. I had figured the enclosure would be designed around both options, not just a ported box with a plug. Since they didn't change up the design at all, my guess is the sealed option will drastically reduce the low end...- peenemunde

Looking for a great 2.1 desktop experience.....? HELP
I have looked into SVS and they seem to be a GREAT option for the money :) I'm glad you had mentioned the part about HSU slacking on design with their hybrid enclosures. A sub can only perform as well as it's enclosure. My friend has the 15" Hybrid and it sounds pretty good the way it is...- peenemunde

Looking for a great 2.1 desktop experience.....? HELP
You don't feel like the internal DAC of the AVR will suffice? I guess I don't know much about HK but I figured it would be better then most of your average, every day DACs. I was hoping to hold off on an external DAC until later, save up $$$ and do it the right way. Get something...- peenemunde

Looking for a great 2.1 desktop experience.....? HELP
I wanted to build myself a great 2.1 setup for my computer. I had planned on buying the DGX and going optical into my Harmon Kardon AVR146 at first but now I am thinking of just running active speakers. I was looking at the Audioengine A5+ with the S8 subwoofer but now I'm second guessing...- peenemunde

Recommendations for integrated/headphone tube amplifier?
I've recently converted from a car audio guy to a home audio guy and I'll never look back. Ever since making my transition I've done nothing but ache over hi-fidelity and the $$$$ that come along with it. Right now I'm looking into purchasing a tube amplifier that will drive my Klipsch Forte...- peenemunde

M-Audio Q40 Impressions (long w/pics)
Just did the Beyer pad mod today myself:) Wasn't able to find the 770 pads so I ordered the black 990 Velour pads. People say the 770's have better characteristics then the 990's but so far I have no complaints. The mids are a little harder to distinguish but the comfort is 100% worth it...- peenemunde
