Post A Photograph Of Your Turntable
I recently purchased a pro-ject rm 1.3 genie on the for sale forums. Paired with my grado platinum it is amazing but a little out of your price range. But if buy used and get something like the grado black (I'm kind of a grado fanboy) you could stay in your price range and have a great set up...- chrstnwarrior88

Akg K701 or Beyerdynamic custom one pro?
That is the million dollar question for these headphones. I personally have a musical paradise tube amp that I think is spectacular. But from what I have heard for the best bang for your buck you should look into the matrix m stage, the 02 amps, and Schiit Magni. These are all great options. But...- chrstnwarrior88

Akg K701 or Beyerdynamic custom one pro?
On paper the k70x headphones seem somewhat easy to drive. But from experience this is not the case. You don't have to go crazy or anything but an amp is a necessity with these headphones. They are good for gaming and movies though. Hope this helps at least a little.- chrstnwarrior88

Recommended cartridges for Technics 1200 and Cambridge 640p, with Mackie MR5s
I don't have a ton of experience but hopefully I can help. I recently upgraded from an older audio technica cart to a grado black. I love it. It is pretty cheap (around $50 or $60 USD) and was a huge sound upgrade. They also make a couple upgrades from the black, that are color coded (blue...- chrstnwarrior88

Trying to broaden my musical spectrum (Jazz, Blues, Classic Rock recommendations?)
For classic rock one of my favorite albums is "the cars" by the Cars. Also like most Kansas and for Early European rock I like Jethro Tull (my favorite album from Jethro Tull is "heavy horses."- chrstnwarrior88

Headphone amp questions
That is what I do with mine for now. I made a cable (or you can buy one) that has RCA connectors on one side and either a female or male 3.5 mm jack on the other side (mine has the female so I can use my LOD from my iphone to the amp). I am saving for a good DAC but in the mean time it sounds...- chrstnwarrior88

Headphone amp questions
I don't like to give advice except when it's from experience. I only have one quality amp so far, but I love it. It's a musical paradise mp-301 mkIII. It is a tube amp which can be used to drive speakers or headphones. I have used it for a couple months now and really have no complaints. It is...- chrstnwarrior88

best way to connect headphones to speaker terminal (tube and ss)
Thanks for the info. I did find that picture while doing some research. This is probably the way I am going to do it. I have the cable made already so I guess I just need to solder the resistors. The amp I am planning on using this on is solid state. (I do have a new musical paradise mp301 tube...- chrstnwarrior88

Headphone recommendation for an overwhelmed person
I can't give you much of a recommendation, but I will comment on the amp discussion. I actually use a portable amp for my Brainwavz b2 iem's. They are only like 30 ohms or something like that, and my iPhone is fully capable of driving them, but the amp makes them sound so much better. The...- chrstnwarrior88

best way to connect headphones to speaker terminal (tube and ss)
Hello, I am fairly new to headfi and the diy side of the house. I have done a good amount of research and not found very much solid info on this subject. So I thought I'd ask the experts. As of now I have a vintage sansui amp, and I am planning on buying a tube small tube amp fairly soon. ...- chrstnwarrior88

DIY Cable Gallery!!
Just made my first interconnect. Nothing super fancy, but I had fun and it looks purdy. I used 24 awg spc from navships on ebay, cardas quad solder, and cheap mini's (because I don't want to spend the big bucks till I'm at least fairly well versed at this... Next project is gonna be an iPhone...- chrstnwarrior88

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Its not my fault they play it too much on your radio station. That's why I dont really listen to the radio. Anyway I like the song either way. Today I'm listening to some vinyl. "let the good times roll" by the Cars.- chrstnwarrior88
