I literally just received the E9/E7 combo as my entry level DAC and amp to use with the Beyer DT 990 Pros that I ordered, but would like to know the next step up for whenever I'm ready to upgrade. It probably won't be for at least a couple months, but I'd like to know the next kind of price...

Does the E9 help to "clean up" the sound quality? I know it isn't a DAC and that's why it has the port for the E7, but I plan on using it with my computer and the DT990 Pros 250 Ohm.
