I have Radio Shack rosin soldering flux in a 2 oz white plastic container with threaded top. The residue on the threads is drying and it's really hard to open it. I tried 91/% Isopropyl alcohol to clean it but it didn't work. What do I need?

I just purchased a pair of Rokit 5 less than an hour ago.  They are big improvement comparing to Audioengine A2 soundwise.  However, the Rokit 5's make static noise while music is not playing.  They make static noise even only the power cables are attached .  Is this normal?  My A2 was dead...

I'm planning to replace my Audioengine A2 with Rokit 5.   A2 go to slip if no signal is sent to it. I don't have to turn it off.  Does Rokit 5 go to slip like A2 when no signal is being sent to it?
