In my last comment I didn't mean which is better, just more worth their prices ($300 & $500), but I guess that's still subjective. You're right; the very best thing to do is to try both.

Have you ever tried MrSpeakers Mad Dogs? Which other closed headphones have you found to be at least decent?

I found the newer apple earbuds to be much much better than the old ones; they stopped working after 6 months though lol. If you studied it really well, then they probably aren't fake. It might just be that you expected too much from all the hype. You'll know for sure when the second pair...

Lol. I'm still gonna have to use the case. I only have a Shure bag made for their foldable DJ headphones. Sorry; one last thing. Would the Shure's be too inaccurate for mastering music, or are they linear enough besides the bass?

What are your thoughts on Mad Dogs vs Shure 1540s? And I know the Mad Dogs require more power. I will spend about the difference between the two on an amp if I go with the Mad Dogs.
