Changing the peak dB to a specific level
Well, it is directy connected to the soundard. I'm using Sennheiser HD439 (32ohm impedance). Using advanced limiter fixed the problem, no more fluctations but distortions. I can manage a level where nothing distorts and all fine. Just wanted an easy way to do it but i suppose i should do...- NAeternal

Changing the peak dB to a specific level
HI! I've a soundcard which can produces. maximum 98 db sound And some of my flac musics can't hit the 98 db, so they are quiet. Like classical music or 24bit 96khz vinyl albums. I use replaygain but if I use it more than the song needs, fluctations happen. I want the perfect setting, in...- NAeternal

How can I use my soundcard's full potential? Help!
Well, I've scanned Dream Theater's newest album as you said. Used replaygain, it normalized the song but now the grey bar never reaches the top? And the song is much quieter.- NAeternal

Difference between Normalization and ReplayGain
So, normalization makes the quiet parts of the song louder, so it sucks. and ReplayGain just increases the overall volume, and doesn't make any kind of "waving"? All the parts of the song gain the same amount of volume? so it is better ? :)- NAeternal

HD 439 Driver Touching the Ear Problem
Hey, the depth of the HD-439's ear-pads is low and when I boost the headphone, the drivers touch my ear. I've tried putting cable under the pads but I want a long-term solution. Changing the Ear-Pads maybe? Do HD 4xx series have another pad that has more depth? Maybe 449's pleather pads?- NAeternal

Sennheiser HD 439 Bass rattling.
You mean by rattling that the drivers touch your ears? If so, I have the exact problem and i fix it (for now) by putting cable under the pads. Now I'm waiting information from the supplier, if there is a pad with higher depth from 4xx series i will buy it.- NAeternal

Sennheiser HD439 review
What about vibration? Since I like listening to metal, I can't amp the phones. The drivers just go mad, especially the left one.- NAeternal

Sennheiser HD439 review
With amp, when you boost the volume the basses distort like hell. You should consider it before buying HD 439. It can be annoying. The rest, these cans are great. Nice sound/detail, adequate bass, comfortable.- NAeternal

Sennheiser HD439 review
I'm listening to progressive rock like Rush, Dream Theater so I don't want bass but want detail. I would go for 449 because of what you are saying but I want my headphones to last longer. I'm in a dead end lol. 449 is supposed to be better but has no removable cable, what a shame Sennheiser.- NAeternal

Increased Impedance/Resistance = Low Volume
Well, i sold it and returned to the onboard one. Creative X-Fi Go Pro, I really dont recommend this card. That buzzing on low impedance headphones, and dark sound... I'll never go for an usb card again, never. -
Increased Impedance/Resistance = Low Volume
Well, yes there is a distortion. So only thing left is buying an amp. But i think it wont worth for a 50 $ usb soudcard. -
Increased Impedance/Resistance = Low Volume
Well, i bought a 47 ohm 2 watt resistor today Removed the 100 ohm one and imported 47 one, it means -7.8 db decrease in volume. [20*log10(32/79)] So i added +7.8 db from soundcard driver's equalizer. Same volume output as the zero resistance, with no distortion. Fixed the buzzing at the... -
Increased Impedance/Resistance = Low Volume
Well, that means 4.5 db difference between 47 ohm and 100 ohm resistor, still not that good? Actually my headphone vol is good @ %100, but it is the feeling of "i can't increase the volume more" that bothers me. Lets hope 79 ohm (-7,84954226 db) is gonna be enough for me, and still fix the... -
Increased Impedance/Resistance = Low Volume
Well, iZMXi that was the answer which i needed, thank you so much. So, is there any solution to boost the volume up, besides amps cause they are kind of expensive in my country Another question would a fiio e5 (in example) make the perceived volume up from %65 to like %90 or something? -
Increased Impedance/Resistance = Low Volume
yes it is, but without the resistance imported, the volume level is great. (i mean the direct connection with headphone's jack, sound card's output) it is just the addition of the resistance (100 ohm), cut down the volume like %50. i was wondering, if i'd use 50 ohm resistance cable... -
Increased Impedance/Resistance = Low Volume
Well, looks like noone responses, i will try to build 50 ohm adapter cable tomorrow and share the results. -
Increased Impedance/Resistance = Low Volume
Can you compare 50 ohm and 100 ohm adapter cable, (assuming 50 ohm will fix the buzzing too) at volume base -
Increased Impedance/Resistance = Low Volume
Hey, i use 32 ohm sennheiser hd407 and creative x-fi go pro sound card. (i dont know the soundcard's impedance, if you find it i'd be very grateful) I was having buzzing at bass, so i decided to make a 100 ohm adapter cable. It worked to fix the buzz, but cut the volume down like %50. So, is...- NAeternal
