do i really need an amp?

well i managed to get it installed on my ipod. all it took was a jailbreak, the install script and a little file management. so as of right now i have the newest version installed om my 2G and i gotta say its a lot more stable than i though it would be. the main issue I'm running into is that...

do i really need an amp?

Quote: well i bought it in the app store but couldnt transfer it to my ipod. once i get a wifi signal ill try and download it directly but from what iv been reading it looks like they compleatly phased out 2G suppors with their 3.0 update. looks like a wasted $3

do i really need an amp?

Quote: well if you got it working for your 2g im willing to give it a shot. its much cheaper to spend $3 on an ap than $100 on an amp or even $200 on a source

do i really need an amp?

well the EQ on my ipod touch is the worst thing iv ever heard in my life. i looked at the Cowon J3 a few days ago but cant really justify a new source right now. iv been told the SQ isnt any better than what i already have

    Sony MDR-EX1000 vs Sennheiser IE8/80

Quote: no i didnt. when i blind tested myself a few months ago with lossless and 320 mp3, i found that about about 65% of the time i picked the mp3 sounding better than the lossless.   i just read your review on the RedGiant A03 on here. while i would like a wide sound stage, i dont...

do i really need an amp?

Quote: well i have a fiio e7 and with my Westone 4s and i can tell it brings the mids out a little more and bumps the bass very slightly. it also brings down the sharpness of the highs a tad. all is very minute and cant say i would have noticed without a side by side comparison. im sure...

    Sony MDR-EX1000 vs Sennheiser IE8/80

something interesting i found out today. after going through my itunes i found that a lot of my music bit rate is as low as 180kbps... which is crap. i guess something was lost when i moved my itunes from my desktop to my laptop. but anyway, after i re-synced it with my Cd's i found that the...

do i really need an amp?

I'm planning on getting either the IE80s or Sony EX1000. right now I'm using a 2nd gen ipod touch. now i know very little about impedance and all that so I'm unsure if an amp is necessary. the impedance of both IEMs are around 32.

    Sony MDR-EX1000 vs Sennheiser IE8/80

well this has been a very hard decision for me and i appreciate everyone sharing their views and experiences with me. after hours of thinking about it i honestly cant decide which would be better for me. so iv decided to get both and do a side by side comparison. while i would rather not dump...

    Sony MDR-EX1000 vs Sennheiser IE8/80

for the Sony's and the wind noise problem. would i be able to wear like ear muffs or something to keep the wind out but not effect the sound stage? also, since the Sony's have vents, how badly do they leak sound? one of the main reasons I'm switching to an IEM is to prevent disturbing others...

    Sony MDR-EX1000 vs Sennheiser IE8/80

thanks for all the replies guys. I'm still leaning more towards the Sony's right now, but I'm hoping to get a few more opinion in here before i decide. the IE8s are no longer an option. one thing no one has touched on yet is how compatible each IEM is to the type of music i listen to. would one...

    Sony MDR-EX1000 vs Sennheiser IE8/80

I owned the HD650 for about 2 years now but iv decided to go for a more portable approach to my music. i originally decided to go with the westone 4 mostly cause the pair i picked up were only $300. at first i thought they were very muddy sounding but they started growing on me. i loved the...
