LG G3 as a portable source?

Just got my G3, and even 10 minutes in I can tell it has less noise than my old Galaxy S3. Treble might be a bit rolled off, but the absolute lack of noise has sold me here. Would recommend. Also, holy cow the screen is nice!

    V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Depends. My GS3 is atrocious (US Cellular version, probably much the same as some of the other major American cellular brands in terms of hardware), and my clip+ blows it away. Just so much noise in the signal and the onboard amp is a joke. I think I have the Qualcomm chip, but I heard the...

Headphones and Movies Can they break?

Quote: Reread that again haha..... He meant that they are mastered, but in a way so that the sound levels aren't uneven.

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!

Quote: On these things? Not as likely. More likely the amp. These things can handle a great deal of power.

What pads are most people running with their magnums? Just curious, I wanna know if I should try something else. Currently using senn quarter modded pads.

Quote: From what I've heard, g-cush should make the bottom end hard to achieve. I personally find my magnums with plenty of bass using quarter modded 414 pads, but the comfort leaves something to be desired. Maybe you could start with that and try to make pads that are both comfortable...

The only time soldering is difficult is if you are working in cramped spaces with a crappy soldering iron. I still managed not to mess up my turbulent x drivers..... miraculously :p

Quote: I was surprised how my sr80i's sounded after I woodied them. Nothing major, but it refined them around the edges, and as they say it's the small stuff that makes the differences, especially in this hobby!

Quote: So you just slide the grills in and glue them down? Seems pretty simple, and I guess that makes it easy to remove them if you need to get at the drivers!

I wonder if that cheap look couldn't be fixed with a little modding? ^^   I just finished sanding my second set of cups, and I must say these are looking fantastic. However, I was curious how you guys mount your grills inside the cups? I figured there must be a better way than using those...

Quote: Right now I'm just running the rock wool. Not exactly sure what method most people are using but I made sure to get a decent layer or rock wool on top of paxmate pyramids covering the entire inner portion of the cup. I would say play around until you hit your desired sound.

I wanna see how that mesh ends up looking. I have thought of using hardware mesh before which looks similar to what you are using, albeit the hardware mesh is silvery.

Quote:   Yes! It took some sanding as originally the drivers did not fit, but they are quite snugly press fit. :) I think wood cups do a fantastic job of smoothing the sound of these babies out (sr80i drivers) and I am really looking forward to my magnum drivers I have coming! One...

I forget where I saw the idea originally.... It *may* be my variation of someone else's idea except its so dang simple I wouldn't believe that I came up with it first. Works fantastically though!
