Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions

Have you seen any measurements of something like the HD800 that shows the "electronics" having such a drastic effect on bass? Outside of applying an EQ of course. The HD800 has measurably bad bass extension and, in my experience, most people are talking about a lack of sub-bass when they say it...

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions

I don't think you're looking in the right place. I just checked the specs of the Mojo 2 and it only has 0.06 ohms of output impedance.

Also, those aren't power settings. That's saying that the amp can supply X power at Y load. It could send 2W to a headphone with 32 ohms of impedance or 930mW to ones with 300, etc.

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions

They're talking about the output impedance. The specs you listed show an output impedance of 50 ohms while the E3s have an impedance of 27 ohms. As a rule you want the output impedance of an amp to be about 1/8th that of the impedance of whatever you're driving or less.

CDC warns that hearing loss is possible with less than 5 minutes of exposure to 110db  https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/hearing_loss/what_noises_cause_hearing_loss.html

This is where they get the most use. Walked around the office a bit with them but they're a bit big to be used outside IMO. If I want to listen to something while out and about I have wireless buds and IEMs.

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions

Yep. I've got a desktop amp with more power but it sounds the same to my ears. Not an expert but, unlike a dynamic, planar drivers tend to (always?) have a flat impedance so they don't require more power to have the proper bass response. This old article is a good read on the subject...

Dan Clark Audio E3 Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions

I use a Fiio BTR5 and it powers them just fine. Was worried that I'd have to find a new BT/USB DAC but that's not been the case. On low gain using the 2.5mm balanced output I'm getting ~105db with the vol at about 40/60. I've turned it up louder for a few sec just to test and couldn't hear any...

LZ A7 IEM's impressions and reviews thread

Wish I could get a year out if mine. Sometimes it takes months and sometimes only weeks. I tried 4 different cables before giving up for a good while. Did you send yours off to someone or was the guy local to you?

LZ A7 IEM's impressions and reviews thread

That's basically what I do except that the issue isn't the ring, it's the two outer halves of the male connector. Seems like the female side (on the A7s) isn't perfectly round so the connection starts tight but as the IEMs rotate on the connectors they slowly bend the two halves together making...

LZ A7 IEM's impressions and reviews thread

Anyone had issues with their A7s running through cables? I've been carrying the my B2 Dusks and Timeless for the last year+ instead of the A7s because they pinch the MMCX connector and cause a spotty connection. I can take a small flathead screwdriver to bend the sides of the connector back out...

What's the best free software to convert FLAC to mp3?

I've always used FLACsquisher. It's free, open source, and is pretty cross platform thanks to its support of Mono. I haven't tried the newest version under Linux but the old one did everything except convert to MP3 when used in Linux. The new one should have that fixed.
