Was in your position 2 years ago, tried quite a few IEMs for gaming.   Ended up with the Sennheiser IE80, completely beats everything else I've tried for soundstage, has decent clarity and fairly good bass for a pair of IEMs. 

Just purchased the IM70s, hope they were a good buy, need something for work that is better than the EPH100s and ATH-CKM500s that I'm using now.    Currently have the IE80s that I use at home and nothing I have really comes close, hope these do a better job than the others! 

Thinking about getting the ATH-IM70, currently own the IE80, EPH100 and ATH-CKM500 and some other cheaper ones and nothing really comes close to the IE80 that I use. 

Are those just heat shrink wrapped at the input ends where it connects to the IE80?   I think it'd be much sturdier if they used the actual plastic connectors. 

yeh theyre fine then, nothing to worry about.   how come you paid so much for them? I live in Vic and paid $260ish for them including postage to aus from amazon.it 

Just compared to my box that I got from Amazon.it   Looks genuine to me for the box, although the bass knob not stopping isn't the same on mine.

Lol seems like this issue with the sound disappearing from one side of the earpiece due to moisture or whatever that I reported when it first came out isn't a so called "myth" as some users were claiming it to be.

I play my IE80s out of my computer with a Titanium-HD soundcard which I think has a built in amp, definitely sounds a tiny tiny bit better when I played them through my onboard audio.    Doesn't require an AMP/DAC unit though as I play it out of my iphone and still sounds almost identical.

I was thinking it may be better to buy a 3rd party one that's better quality? Since I purchased mine internationally from Amazon I don't think it's covered by warranty.    Do any cable suppliers offer extended warranty to replace them if it does break?   Are these cables offered here on...

Hey guys,   Can anyone recommend replacement cables for the ie80s? the rubber on mine have begun to break on the right side tip.   Would it be better to buy 3rd party replacement cables or just get another sennheiser one by contacting them?   I'm happy with the stock sennheiser ie80...

ahah yeh definitely have to stick with headphones with that issue, or maybe just use earphones like earpods 

use some tiny IEMs that don't actually go very deep and don't stick out at all, like the sennheiser cx300s

maybe similar in terms of sound signature? not sound stage
