Hi all. I'm selling my Focal Stellia closed back headphones, bought in Feb 2021 from Hifi Lounge and used for less than 20 hours since (probably less than 10 to be honest). In the meantime, they've been kept safely in their case. As you can see from the pictures, these are in as-new condition...- pedalhead

All things Metrum Acoustics
Whilst I agree that most Youtube demos are completely pointless, the Alpha Audio guys are on another level. I've been following their channel for a while and their recording setup genuinely shows differences in components imho. Also, they often share the lossless flac files with their viewers so...- pedalhead

All things Metrum Acoustics
I've been fortunate to get the chance to have an Adagio with dac3 modules & Ambre here for a while on loan (just arrived today). Chain is: roon > Ambre i2s > Adagio dac3 > diy First Watt F7 > Susvara (thanks Hifiman for the loaner). For reference, I owned a Metrum Hex a few years ago which...- pedalhead

Yes, if you (or a dealer) contacts them and requests the dac3 modules you can have them fitted for 149 euro per module uplift.- pedalhead

Too much uncertainty out there about Metrum at the moment, so I'm bailing on the Adagio. They are definitely shipping dac3 modules now though (in new units as an upgrade).- pedalhead

Not that I'm aware of. The UK dealer has been trying to get information out of Metrum but with no success.- pedalhead

Yes, I've had a look at the Sonnet. It worries me that Cees appears not to be heavily involved in Metrum any more, and if the DAC3 modules are similar to those in the Morpheus, the latter is around half the price.- pedalhead

I've been quoted a price for the DAC3 modules with an Adagio, so as far as I'm concerned they are taking money for the new modules, but no info about them still.- pedalhead

All things Metrum Acoustics
I don't have the Adagio yet, just wondering on the generally accepted method. Obviously I'll do some listening tests myself when the time comes. I seem to recall, back when I had a Metrum Hex a few years ago, that using upsampling to 176 kHz had a positive effect at the time. Thanks...- pedalhead

Speaking of I2S...I'm guessing that Ambre I2S > Adagio supports 384 khz? And on that note...do you guys know if Cees recommends upsampling the signal prior to the DAC? Or perhaps that defeats the idea.- pedalhead

Can confirm that DAC3 modules when bought with a new Adagio are 149 euro each (Adagio requires 8 modules).- pedalhead

Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread
This may have been mentioned somewhere in this enormous thread, apologies if so... I sent a question to Chord today about being able to drive speakers directly from the TT2, and received a reply stating, whilst they are aware of Rob's comments, they don't encourage it and doing it will...- pedalhead

Wotcha, yep I've been away from the forum for quite a while, just enjoying my desktop setup. Going down into the abyss of portable research now though :-). Thanks for the vote of confidence in the MEST and Musictech, very helpful. Cheers!- pedalhead
