Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread

Ok, my TF10s have been sitting forlornly since the cables died. Any know of any cheap and durable replacements? I'm looking at the Fiio's but the Amazon reviews indicate a reliability even worse than the stock cables.

"Known Issue" Asus Xonar STX- Mic Humming/Buzzing when playing games

I had the same problem too, with my previous GPU, a Geforce GTX 560 Ti. Switching to a Radeon 7950 has minimised the problem. The issue is still there, but only if I really increase the recording volume to an unusable level.

    Gaming headsets that stand out

A bit late, but I want to say thanks for writing that up. Too often around here the groupthink gravitates towards "oh, just buy the Audio Technica/Beyer and attach a microphone." It means there is very little info on headsets. So thanks again for writing that up. I look forward to reading more...

Portable Gaming Headset - Do they exist?

Checking back here. Is it a crime to dig up my own threads? :P   Oh, and spiffy forum makeover. :D   The PC300's mic seems to get a good review, as does the headphones themselves. Might see if I can get a way to demo them somehow.

Portable Gaming Headset - Do they exist?

Revisiting this post; got them Triple.fi 10vi's thanks to Amazon, and finally got the splitter at a good price from DealExtreme: DealExtreme: $2.35 Gold Plated 3.5mm Female to Dual Male Audio Split Adapter (warning: This is sourced from China. If you have a bias against Chinese-made...

Portable Gaming Headset - Do they exist?

I have no idea Etymotic now has a gaming arm. Interesting. I'll have to go check it out.

Oh, joker, that adapter is handy! Thank you! That's tremendously expanded my choices!

Portable Gaming Headset - Do they exist?

Cool, I knew you guys would come up with something I've never heard of before! Thanks! The NuForce looks interesting, though I'm not sure if it'll work. In a sense won't it be too different from all those iPhone headsets that have been appearing? Also, doesn't the HD25 come without a mic...

Portable Gaming Headset - Do they exist?

I'm looking for something rather unique, and very likely to not exist. But what the hey, here goes! Well, essentially, I'm looking for something to bring along to either a LAN cafe or to a LAN gaming meetup between my friends. I don't want something bulky, since going to the LAN cafe I'll be...

    Yuin PK1 > FiiO E3 > 3.5mm - 2.5mm > Nokia E71

Hi guys, I thought I'd dig this thread up a bit to firstly add that I have the same experience as vladimirx: I'm getting unbearable hiss on my current 'phone, which is the Audio-Technica ATH-CK7. I'm using the remote control with the stock canalphones for the time-being, since the hiss on...

REviews on Audio Technica CK7 and CK6?

I have the PK2s and the CK7s and I disagree with that statement. The PK2s have a better soundstage and treble (CK7s can be a little shrill if you're not used to them), but I wouldn't say the CK7s are bad. In fact I picked them over UE's Super.fi 5 Pros and the CK9s :P

sony w810i or creative zen v plus?

I do think getting a new battery is not a bad idea. It's probably the cheapest option too!

    Logitech Freepulses

Bluetooth just doesn't have a lot of bandwidth. You'll essentially be compressing your music again. I've tried to hookup a BT connection from a mobile phone to my desktop speakers just for kicks and it didn't sound particularly good. Changing to the headphone out jack improved things. On the...

Any former iPod haters who ended up getting an iTouch?

The Zen's dirt cheap and has 32gb with a card slot. I still have my Zen Vision:M and if the Zen has the same SQ it's going to be a tiny bit better than the touch. The 5 apps for $20 is one (revenue recognition my ass), the inability to buy it even if I wanted to, the locking down of the...

Sony Walkman Pro cassette kicks MP3 butt

You know, one reason why I don't like coming here is because there's a strange lack of common sense and logical thinking here. It's like, there's an allergy to science for some reason. The same science that brought about reproducable followed by portable music. Anyway I'll go back to...

Any former iPod haters who ended up getting an iTouch?

Personally, the touch is ok. Sometimes I wished I waited a bit and bought the Zen 32gb instead. But what I'm even less impressed with is Apple. I'm still amazed at their business practices. It's so closed and annoying to deal with.

What MP3 Player should I try next?

Gapless is going to be what kills your range of choices. I think the only gapless players now are the iPods and the Vibez. Some of the old Sonys had them but I think they'll be hard to get on the market (and might require ATRAC conversion).

Mobile phones as sources - be gentle with me

After using a Zen Vision:M, then a touch, I can't say I can go back to using a phone again as a MP3 player. Like what Oliver says, the main thing is the UI. Phones in general have so-so UI for their music functions, and those that do (WM, Treos) are usually the ones doing other things that...

Getting the Most from Portable RIG for Less?

Err... nope, I don't think so. Biggest difference probably starts from the 'phones, then the source. Touch may not be great, but it's not night and day as some people make it out to be.

    Getting a new ipod

Ooo, DBS? The 16gb touch is a pretty good offer, yes. I have a Zen (still working) and it does sound a little better than a touch. Part of the reason for getting the touch was for the extras like the photo album and the web browser. If you're only concerned with music, I'd just get...
