Ultrasones (hfi 780 or pro 750) would probably be what ylu want unless you can't deal with brightness or the long burn in. Another option would be the dt770 though they depend on what your running these with. Edit-Also AKG k550 and Philip L1 can be found around $250,both I recommend over those...

I can't recommend the akg k550,for what its worth.I am completly in love with it right now.

Well the pro 900 tends to suffer with classical and is ok with rock, but its amazing with electronic music.The akg k550 is more an all rounder and does really well classical but dosn't suffer really in any area.I havn't heard the T7 so I can't comment on that.If its worth anything I love my k550...

If you still dont think there comfortable after strettching your m50s,I would suggest looking at Fischer fa 003/brainwavz hm5/lindy premium/jay car $50 version,it sounds better and is more nuetral.

Akg k550 I think is the more middle ground your looking for.As for the e7 only the amp works for the ipod.

I think the meier audio stepdance sounds amazing with the hd25s but they sound good with most headphones.

I wanna bring up the fischer fa 003/brainwavz hm5/lindy or $50-$80(shipping affects it a lot) unbranded version at jay car.I think its better than most headphones under $200 unless you have to have a lot of bass.Its really comfy and isolates well,its big though.

Well the akg k550 is worth considering,I think people underestimate there bass ,since alot of people are used to headphones like the denon 2k and pro 900 but since you havn't heard them the bass should be fine.I think its a better headphone then denon 2k in alot of areas.
