Headphones dropped, now one side louder

I dropped my DT880, and now the left side is much louder than the right. I'm guessing no, but is this something that may return to normal after some time?   If not, what is it likely that I have to replace/repair, the cable or the right side driver, or something else?

Effect of output impedance of a source and realistic headphone impedance

OK, I'm finding it difficult to entirely understand the effects of source output impedance and headphone impedance on the frequency curve.   In essence I would just like to know enough about impedance matching to help me be competent at buying audio gear.   What I understand is that in...

"Native sample rate" of a DAC

Does such a thing exist? I'm thinking specifically of the PCM1794. The spec sheet simply says that it is capable of sampling rates between 10khz and 200khz, but I'm wondering if there are native sample rates for this chip.

Audio crackles and pops and equipment damage, due to low sound buffers

When I'm using an output API on Windows such as ASIO or WASAPI that lets me choose buffer, and I set the buffer too low, can the resulting crackles and pops from this cause damage to my equipment, or is the only downfall the loss in quality due to artifacts? Surely it's not the same as amp...

    Creative Sound Blaster ZXR

With the card in the title, there's a choice between setting 32-300ohm headphone output and 600ohm headphone output. I think the 600ohm option just adds power. Is there any downside (in terms of quality or potential damage to very efficient headphones) to set the output to 600ohms for all...

essence stx (or general headphone amp) headphone output power, resistance questions

guys i'm not familiar with headphone power requirements and such but i'm going to be getting something like an essence stx soon (specifically looking at the creative zxr, which uses the same chip and presumably similar circuitry). i hear it actually has not a lot of power output (mW)...

    avr or amp?

is it absolutely impossible to use an amp for 2.1? i've read of some convoluted ways of doing it, so not entirely sure...   my motherboard doesn't have digital out, so currently my only quality audio option is hdmi from my graphics card. the other option is a titanium hd for £80 (good deal...

£200/$320 (closer to $250 in terms of value) budget pc audio recommendations?

so i want good sound for my pc, either 2.1 or 2.0 speakers that don't roll-off extremely at the bottom, with non-software volume control; space isn't a concern. uses are music, games, movies, with a preference for balanced sound that covers low lows and high highs... lol. currently my sound...

ASIO settings, sample rate issue - x-fi xtreme music

My friend gave me his old Xtreme Music to replace my Xtreme Audio, and it doesn't have a choice to change sample rate in the Creative Audio panel, so I changed it in Windows' to 192khz, 24-bit because I read this card drives 192khz with 2/2.1 (I have 2.1), but up to 96khz with more speakers. The...

    Amp/DAC or soundcard under $160

Hi, I'm aware that there's a similar thread to this from just 2 weeks ago, but my needs are a little different to those in the older thread. I've also googled extensively, but my biggest problem seems to render those threads irrelevant, which is that I've got a budget of £80~£100, or $160...
