Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!
Quote: Never heard of the MarkL mod so I can't comment about that. Somehow I wasn't too keen to go in that direction. I prefer the D2k sound compared to D5k. Wood made the bass loose and warmed up the mids slightly. Highs sounded more or less the same to my ears, perhaps less hot...- cyloh

Denon D2000/D5000, MD2000/MD5000 Thread!
I purchased a D2000 a year ago. Recabled to D5000 cable and installed D5000 wood cups. Essentially a D2k converted to D5k. Just bought another D2k a couple of weeks ago. Using it as is. Now I feel like picking up yet another D2k (third one). I think I'm insane.- cyloh

Quote: Now hold your iem upright, like how they're like on the picture and use your thumb and press down hard on the tips. Should be harder to get the mh1c tips to fit flush with the nozzle compared to the hybrids. ----- I'm kinda tempted to pick up the fxd70. Amazon japan...- cyloh

VSONIC VC02 Thread
After 3 days with these, I have to say they remind me of the XBA-3. Less bass, cleaner, but not as articulating. Deep insertion is a must or they will start to sound like cheap buds. Also I can't listen to them without an amp. Much better with an amp. Not good for low volume listening(which is...- cyloh

The Somic Thread--50mm driver open air full size cans pop out of nowhere, sound amazing
Hey, I've heard these before. Over here in Malaysia they're "OEMed" by a local company called AVF. Priced at about $50. Spent 10 minutes with them a while back, they're like some poor man's HD600/HD650 to me. Seeing this thread makes me wanna go out and buy a pair, mod them a...- cyloh

JVC HA-S770. First over ear carbon nanotubes headphone.
Quote: Sure you can call me upsidedowncat :D As for the S770, I've found some sellers in china that might ship to me but they price it at a premium. USD$130++ before shipping. I have the brainwavz HM3 and HM5 on the way. HM5 were supposed to be "studio monitors". We'll see...- cyloh

The NEW JVC HA-S400. Affordable Carbon Nanotube cans for the masses.
Quote: For the S500, signal and ground are different for L/R driver. Follow the blue dot. I did not recable the S400 but they may be cabled that way too. I had the wiring reversed on one of the drivers. Now one driver magnet is a lot weaker than the other. Severe (not fixable)...- cyloh

I'm starting to get interested. Wonder do the HM5 pad fit on these. Will you take some pictures of the drivers and enclosure? Unfortunately I can't get them anyway to start with Nothing listed on ebay to Malaysia(where I'm from).- cyloh

JVC HA-FXZ 100/200
I picked up the brainwavz HM3 and HM5, so now I'm broke. Gonna wait till the prices drop(if ever) then I'll snatch the 200s. --- The FXD80 was extremely bright for me. It took quite a while for me to enjoy the FXD80, either my hearing got destroyed in the process or the highs was...- cyloh

Here's how I rock my S500. iBasso D-Zero DAC/AMP. Just the HM5 pads(cotton stuffed at the sides) over them, nothing else. You guys with the HM5 should try it out- cyloh

OK. So I was testing pads and their combos again. I had chores planned for the day and suddenly I tried something on the S500 that made me waste a couple of hours rediscovering my music in disbelief. But here's how it is to me. S500 with only HM5 pads over it = ATH-A2000X with...- cyloh

I'm now enjoying the stock pads stuffed(similar to how you guys stuff the AKGs) + HM5 on top of it. This is overwhelming. I should pick up a few pairs of S500 and have each of them on different pad configurations.- cyloh

Man I'm bummed. Purchased the MH1C listed as expedited international shipping. Next day ebay warned me that the listing is entirely removed, and upon contacting the seller, he gave me a registered airmail tracking(that aint no expedited!).... which is not found in the tracking system so far.- cyloh
