I previously owned the k550, lovely pair of cans and I just used to drive them from my e17 and needed nothing more... If your're not using a DAC+ amp setup you will see a bit difference in terms of clarity sound quality and most important the amazing soundstage of the k550's, but Id advise to...

no problem, i just got my e10's as well and they sound great, very enjoyable listening any type of music on them especially acoustic, and smooth vocals, nice bass extension on them as well let me know what you think of them when you get em, and i suggest you play around with the earbuds a bit...

depending on where you are sitting in a concert, and what type of concert ;)

i think youd be pleased with a fiio e7 and e9 combo

i drive my hd650's just fine through a fiio e10/e17, trust me you'll be pleased

lets see how well sennheiser does with this amp

are they really worth their quadruple digit price-tag?

there might have been a chance you could have gotten a fake pair of cx300's, imo their quality buds for the price you can get em now you can get soundmagic e10's for 35 bukks which are very highly rated

for me had to be klipsh s4

and not to forget the $40 price tag!!!! :)

ordered the soundmagic e10's because of their highly praised attributes. They were for $35 and many say they are worth much more than even competitors in the sub 150-200 range e10 or e30's should fit your needs

my fiio e10 drives my hd650's plenty, im pretty sure the e6 will do fine with the 80ohm dt770's

Honestly I've haven't heard them myself but a trusted reviewer on headfi has said it even drives the 250ohm ones well too  

i drive them just fine from a fiio e10/e17 dont even need an e9 imo

but if your just looking for a new headphone all together id say HD600

you can simply add bass to the K550 by EQing 'em. When needed I add some bass on them with my e17's EQ
