I know it can be done but is it bad for the monitors? Also would I get better results driving a regular amp with loud speakers?

I just bought a brand new little dot MKIV an when i turn it up all the way with the gain turned up all the way the volume is really quiet (there was a buzz but that went away.  The seller claims as the tubes burn in it will get louder.  Is this true? should i send it back?  Any help will b e...

I've been saving up to purchase a little dot MK IV because everyone says a lot of great things about it... for headphones.  I know this is a headphone forum but no one really talks about how well it works as a pre-amp for speakers.  Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about it when used...
