    Audio Technica ATH-CK10

Just how much weathered can my ATH-CK10 get??? The right housing cap just fell off by itself suddenly...   But hey, guess what? Still sounds amazing!

    Audio Technica ATH-CK10

I asked plusSound about the recabling, while it is possible, they charged a high price ($100 for recabling) which I did not find too compelling, even if I love the ATH-CK10 to death. Sure, they're a high quality cable maker but I can't help but think that costing $100usd just to recable, and it...

    Audio Technica ATH-CK10

the right side of my CK10s were starting to sound dimmer and more spaced out compared to the left, so I thought maybe the drivers were finally deteriorating and dying after long hard 5 years of service. Nope! turns out that the filter was so dirty it was blocking up sound. I replaced said filter...

I don't think so, some IEMs definitely isolate better than others, tips do play a factor but not as big and decisive as the overall design of the IEMs themselves.

Review by 'stuartfang' on item 'RHA S500i Ultra-Compact In-Ear Headphone'

The RHA S500/S500i is a surprisingly impressive IEM in a small form factor, given its many shortcomings, which I will cover in this review. The micro dynamic driver is stationed in full aluminium housings, with a combination of fabric and rubber cabling, ending in an aluminium straight plug.  ...

@JK1 I don't quite find my review negative, but I can see where you're coming from. To satisfy your curiosity, I sold it for about the same price I bought it. If you read my review carefully, you'll find that my criticism is entirely on the design and comfort of this IEM, rather than the sound...

Superb review! I am very interested in this headphone. Finally a beautiful A-T headphone after many meh circumaural ones fom them in the recent past. Both the look and the model number however reminds me of the Sony's MDR-1Xx series. I wanna give em a listen ASAP :P

Audeze Robbed of LCD Series Headphones

one of the satisfaction criteria i get from my audio products is the price i paid for them. i don't know how anyone can truly enjoy a pair of headphones if its stolen, robbed of any sort of personal value or conviction. i feel the sense that i earned the product i bought with honest money, and...

Sony releases $160 64 GB SD cards marketed for 'Premium Sound'

Those weren't overpriced and served a much bigger community (PSP, CyberShot, etc.) than this audiophile-based gimmick.

...lost all my respect for Sony after this. Just can't take their crap anymore. Sony's going on my avoid list.

Review by 'stuartfang' on item 'Audio-Technica ATH-IM50 Dual symphonic-driver In-ear Monitor headphones'

The Audio-Technica ATH-IM50/70 series has gained popularity and favourable reviews from members of Head-Fi, as it should. The Japanese designed 8.8mm "dual symphonic driver" proves to be more than capable for its asking price, and once again reinforces the notion that Japanese audio engineers...

    Audio Technica ATH-CK10

i can totally relate to this. i use Shure olives on a regular basis, but when i pair it with Monster triple flanges, and obtain the perfect fit, it is like a whole new experience. keep in mind the deep fit is very bothersome and painful for long session listening, so i mainly use triple...

Review by 'stuartfang' on item 'Sony MDR EX1000'

The Sony MDR-EX1000 is truly a legendary IEM but in a world of its own. Not even the latest XBA, or XBA hybrid Z series could rival its intimidating large single-dynamic driver setup. (my EX1000 in its current state, after 4 long years of service, I've finally decided to sell it off to...

    Audio Technica ATH-CK10

I think right now the best alternative to ATH-CK10 is the ATH-IM02. I couldn't believe it either when I read some people's claims, but now I've heard them and wow.

seems rather a good deal for a sub $100 headphone, along with ath-m50, prodj100 etc. the style is a plus, for those who really like the AKG style.
