Only outputting sound from left speaker
Long overdue...been really busy, but Audioengine sent out a replacement set of A5+'s for free with a return shipping label for my current ones. They should be here by Monday and I hope that it was the speakers that were the problem. The reason I believe they were was because after this issue...- Lewcifer

Only outputting sound from left speaker
Sorry it took so long, I had a busy week...so I took the D1 downstairs to a laptop hooked up to a 5.1 receiver and speakers. Output from the laptop --> D1 --> receiver --> speakers and only the right front, right rear and center speakers worked. It has got to be one of the RCA outputs from the...- Lewcifer

Only outputting sound from left speaker
Quote: I am going to try the outputs on another set of speakers tomorrow, and yes the A5+ are working, but they are working over the 1/8 inch input. If the other speakers don't work, then it is definitely the output from the D1, but if they do, it is the input on the A5+. I will post my...- Lewcifer

Only outputting sound from left speaker
Quote: Yeah, I checked them and they are secure. The only thing it could be is the RCA output of the D1 or the input on the A5+. It works fine over the 1/8 inch straight out of the motherboard, but of course, that means on board DAC.- Lewcifer

Only outputting sound from left speaker
Quote: Yeah, that seems right...the RCA output of the D1 or the RCA input of the A5+ or between the input of the A5+ and the right speaker...the headphones have L and R working, so it is coming in to the D1 properly via toslink.- Lewcifer

Only outputting sound from left speaker
My setup is PC (Foobar2000) --> Audioengine D1 DAC (tried over USB and optical - I have always used toslink optical and with no problems before) --> RCA to Audioengine 5+ speakers...everything was working just fine before and both speakers work by going PC --> 1/8 --> A5+. I am stumped. When...- Lewcifer

New! Audioengine D1 DAC, Preamp, & Headphones amp Unboxing Video
It's USB powered and does not have batteries...you'd have to get one of those portable battery to usb power accessories to use with an iPod. I haven't heard the Fiio, but I've had my D1 for a few weeks now and I love it (although I mostly use it as a DAC only to my A5+'s, I occasionally use it...- Lewcifer

Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...
I like my Strat better than my PRS. I have played a lot of Strats and never liked any of them until I found this one and it is awesome. It feels perfect and has the Texas Special pickups which sound amazing. A Les Paul will be the next guitar I buy, actually almost bought one when I decided to...- Lewcifer

It's an American Special and that's a Boss NS-2. I usually use that with my PRS and Peavey amp though... Quote:- Lewcifer

Sennheiser RS220 Availability?
Quote: I think component does 1080P, but what it doesn't do is HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection - think of it as DRM like the Sony CD debalce of about 5-6 years ago)...which HDMI does, although I've used component before and never had a problem with something not playing...- Lewcifer

Best way to connect Audioengine A5+
Quote: I apologize, but just now realized that your budget was under $100 and I strongly recommended taking a look at the D1 which is well over that budget...I know that's a bit of a pet peeve for some around here. Last night when I responded, I only skimmed through as I was using my...- Lewcifer

Best way to connect Audioengine A5+
I just ordered the a5+ and d1 to replace my a5's which i have really enjoyed for the last two and a half years. Prior to the a5's I was a logitech guy (played lots of games - actually I still do). Moving to the a5's was a huge upgrade for me and I hope the combo I just ordered works out well...- Lewcifer
