I have the Sennheiser HD 380 Pro's and am currently on onboard sound, I wanted to upgrade my audio and was considering an Asus Xonar DX soundcard. I ONLY use headphones so I'm not sure if I need to buy an amp to connect it to the sound card, or what...o.O Can someone please educate a noob? :)

My Budget is $100 maybe able to go a little higher if performance is worth it. I will be using these iems on my iphone... The music I listen to is Heavy Metal/Hard Rock...so I'd like it to sound good and crisp please.   I'm not sure if an amp would be needed or not???
