There is a slight divide in this hobby it feels like - measuring technicality chasers, or music listeners. Something like that. With more words.

I feel you. That is why this a very subjective hobby. But of course, when I hear the Anni, I hear great treble, but I am also amazed they made DD bass sound like average BA bass. And that is an amazing feat.

I have to agree on the Onyx bass and mentioned it once before. Honestly I've been very surprised by the amount of compliments of its bass. Sure it has a bunch of it, it also doesn't bleed much into the mids, but it is like one note bass. The quality is poor. And I didn't just listen to it next...

That bump in the 16k range works well for me. I too was concerned about it before dropping 2.5k on it. I went online and listened to test frequencies in the 14-18k range. I could hear them all, my 48 year old ears somehow came through. So I was really nervous that peak with the Volur would be...

100% I can guarantee in this hobby many people have the placebo effect at times - aka you hear things that are not really there simply based on psychology. I know I've done it, I don't think many people are immune. But the difference between a great DD for bass and a great BA for bass is...

    Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4

I'm pretty sure that works with the 4. But not 100%. But mostly sure.

the MTW4 is the same as the mtw3 - you can customize all the controls for media consumption, but not for phone calls.

Thanks for the response. You know I didn't even check the sensitivity of this IEM just assuming it would be fine. I should have thought of it, after all there are 4 DD in there. From my A&K HB1 they sound better, but they almost max the HB1 out volume wise. Looks like I'll be using these from...

that would be interesting, sounds cool. But you still shouldn't use the Gaea, you need a hybrid IEM known for excellent quality bass. not quantity. Elysian is known for neither. So no EE Bravado stuff either on the flip side.

why would you get a single DD set when you are comparing a set that uses multiple drivers for each frequency? I would take that out. It has to be a hybrid set known for excellent bass as well. The Gaea is not that at all. Nothing Elysian has put out so far is known for great bass really. Just...

I think there is a misunderstanding that great quality bass means basshead. It's totally incorrect. Great bass is about quality to go along with the right quantity. If you truly want the best QUALITY bass, it has to be a DD. Now I'm not saying BA bass sucks at all, but if you are a connoisseur...

Been putting the Quattro through their paces the last few hours. Ended up happiest so far with the Orange Liquer tips. With the iFi go blu I do like to use the bass boost with this IEM so far, whereas with my current other rotation I do not. This seems like a solid value at $400 for sure. Will...

Indeed. When I said I want to hear it I was not joking. I was just making my observation so far about DD vs BA in regards to bass.

I mean of course, I am talking about sound preference. Have not heard of any BA being able to SOUND as good as a very good DD in regards to bass. So yes, the only thing I care about is the sound. Sorry if that did not come out clearly. I care about sound more than chasing technicalities for example.

I would like to hear the Storm, because unless they have an absolutely revolutionary BA driver tech, absolutely no way they can be 'the best' - great DD bass is better than any just BA bass, quite simply. It's simply not possible to get that good. Of course if bass is not as big of a priority to...

In a similar boat. I read that comparison you speak of recently and shrugged. I demoe'd the Raven and that was one of the shortest demos of the day then because I instantly knew I liked the Volur a lot better. It was one of my shortest demos of the day because it was that apparent, and I...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Are the ZX1 going to come out in a regular edition, preferably one that is not red or pink at all. Those are two of my least favorite colors and while I don't try to use TWS as a fashion statement, I just really don't like those colors and don't want to wear those colors. I own no clothing in...

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

I'm not saying you aren't chilling. But it's clearly not landing well with you that anyone could say the Anni is weak on bass. No matter how chill you are. Have another bourbon and then let me know, just answer a couple of simple audio-related questions. Do you think any IEM's are weak on...

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

There are subjective things and there are actual objective things. People come here to read about people's perceptions of IEMs before they spend thousands of dollars on one. I mean it's great if we could live in this kumbaya world where everything sounded great to everyone but that's just not...

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

If someone wants to sell me an over 3K IEM that I need to buy an expensive cable for to make it have decent bass, if that's even true, then I'm not interested. If my source sounds great with ten different IEM's but not yours, then that's also not for me. That's just insulting to my intelligence...

I totally agree that everyone's want from the low end is personal. I'm just also saying the Anni has anemic bass also. It definitely works for a chunk of people and I'm not trying to take away their enjoyment at all. But let's call it what it is. It's got token bass. Basically, if you like bass...

fair point, I can't say it's poor because I couldn't hear much of it. My bad. It's just anemic then. High quality anemic.

    Rank the IEM's you've heard

well the correct way to say it is good DD bass is always better than good BA bass, and if you don't care about bass and mostly just treble, then don't worry about it. for example the Anni '23 has DD bass but it's anemic and poor. I heard a couple BA bass sets with better bass than the Anni '23...
