Strange, I'm a college student and I find the HD700's treble to be quite pleasing. A little, little bit sharp, but nothing that bothers me too much.

At the moment, I'm currently running the HD25 straight out of my iPhone 4S with no EQ, and I'm planning on soon picking up the Shure SE215. Would the $60 investment make a great difference in sound quality for either set out of my phone?   Thanks in advance.

I wish I could. Sadly, I live in a rural area and there aren't any stores around me that have headphones (that I'm interested in) I can audition. No Guitar Centers or anything. Closest I've got is an Apple Store about 15 minutes away, and the best set they have there is the B&W P5.
