Possibly in the US yes, but in the UK 600's at the low end on eBay go for around £140-£160 (note I said 'excellent condition' = used), with new 598's going for not much cheaper. So I stand by my argument that used 600's go for about the same price as new 598's Well at...- edikat

Was lucky to see a pair for sale in as new condition for £70 on eBay UK... the guy even had make me an offer (and folk were already making offers). This... after being posted only one hour! So I did a Buy it Now at £70... and counted myself VERY lucky I saw them so...- edikat

No criticism of you. I have actually listened to the Beats Pro, and they weren't bad at all, may be even good, but I cannot reconcile that with the price he paid (£340 in the UK, well over $500). They leaks no sound though. That is pretty impressive at high volumes and why he went for closed...- edikat

Purchased mainly by rich teens and 20's folk that know no better. Much as I tried I could not persuade my friends teen son to buy a pair of Senn's... they weren't 'cool' enough. Yes, coolness can win over sound anyday with the younger crowd!- edikat

HD 598 Question
You can buy a pair of 600's in excellent condition for around the same price of a pair of new 598's. Have you considered the 600 (and 580)?- edikat

The 580/600/650 are in a totally different league than the 595's and the rest of the 5 series (excepting the 580 of course). I cannot understand those that say the differences are minor. but maybe I am just hard of hearing :)- edikat

Sennheiser HD 595 vs. HD 600 (a review by Senn20)
No contest with me having tried both. The HD 580's demolish the 595's in virtually every type of situation listen (Techno, House, some Classical, Pop), no heavy bass stuff. The 580/600/650 are simply in a different class.- edikat

Purchased in Moscow, Russia in a premium store, hence the high price. My first pair of audiophile headphones purchased without really reading any reviews but on the recommendation of the shop. Those Russians know a thing or two! Went home, put them on, plugged into my old Dell...- edikat
