Anyone else have the display on the E17 die completely? Still fully functional just without the display.

  My absolutely humble beginner setup. Ipod classic 160GB, Fiio LOD, Fiio E6 (upgrading to E17), Shure SE 215 LE.

How good a deal are the e17+r1+stand for 139$ ?   I have just ordered the shure se215 le and have brainwavz m4's,sony mh1c and athm50's. Would any of these benefit from the e17 for portable use?  

Got mine yesterday. Have been very impressed with it so far, sounds good out of the box to me. Ofcourse, the cable and the j-cord even though not convenient is not a deal breaker for me since I'm going to be using these mainly for desk listening at the office and stick to my M4's or M50s...

Order placed on a whim after reading this thread. My current IEM are the Brainwavz M4, which I have grown to like quite a bit.  I was planning on picking up the SE215's over the black friday period. How do you think these will compare to these 2? I have a galaxy S-3, so from what I've read...

Oh yeah, 11' seemed unnaturally long for me but these are studio monitors after all. Have you experienced the 'heaviness' and pull of the coil that I have heard people complain about? Also, do the coils take a fair amount of space in lugging around in a backpack?
