Headphone + microphone as substitute for headset

Hello there,   I recently bought a pair of headphones. I use them mainly for gaming, listening to music and watching movies, youtube, TV. I use them for everything, basically :P. The headphones I'm talking about are the Creative Aurvana Live! They are recommended a lot for both gaming and...

    IEMs for around $35

Quote: What do you mean? The Philips SHE3580 has pretty good ear pieces, I wouldn't change them. As for other tips, I guess most of them will fit. The nozzle isn't extraordinary small or large or anything.

Quote: It's hard to say whether or not an IEM is "worth" the money. The Philips SHE3580 costs 10 dollar. The Brainwavz M2 costs 50 dollar. Is the Brainwavz M2 5 times as good as the Philips SHE3580? It's very hard to say.   Most of the times it's not though. If you really look at...

    IEMs for around $35

Oh, and since he is searching for 35 dollar IEMs, those four aren't even a bad choice, even though they are cheaper. They might not be better than 150 dollar IEMs, but they are better than pretty much all 35 dollar IEMs, except for maybe Brainwavz, Soundmagic or JVC.

    IEMs for around $35

Quote: 150 Dollar is an exaggeration, of course. But if you compare the worst 150 dollar IEMs to the MP 8320, they come pretty close I guess. That doesn't mean I would pay 150 dollar for them, though.

    IEMs for around $35

Well, they are a little cheaper than 35 dollar, but they are considered to be the best budget IEMs around:   Monoprice 8320 Thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/580769/the-monoprice-8320-mep-933-the-7-11-club Price: 7.11...

Quote: I'm using the foam tips that I got with the Brainwavz M2. The sound definitely improved, thanks! When I get the MP 8320 and the Focalprice CK-700 I'm going to try to make my own tips with sleep earplugs! I saw that great DIY tip on this forum a couple of months back, but I haven't...

    The ATH-CKS77.

Quote: I'm sorry if I sounded a bit pushy/rude! That was by no means my intention. I would love to hear the CKS77 just once, or any other amazing IEM for that matter. Certainly now I've listened to the TT Isurus. That IEM impressed me even more than the Brainwavz M2. And I thank you for...

    The ATH-CKS77.

Quote: Well, the problem with more expensive IEMs versus budget IEMs is not the difference in sound. If the SHE3580 costs 10 dollar, and the CKS77 200 dollar, the sound may be 20 times as good, but they are still IEMs. They still consist of two earpieces and a wire. And that's why I never...

    The ATH-CKS77.

Quote: I also loved the sub bass (that's the bass you "feel", right?) of the SHE3580, but it isn't really fair to compare the SHE3580 to the CKS77, or even to the CKM50. I'm not really sure about the price of the CKS77 but I guess it's not 10 dollar like the SHE3580, or even 50 dollar...

I've listened to the SHE3580 and the TT Isurus some more and I really start to like them both. I'm still the most impressed by the TT Isurus, but that's just because I'm used to more bass-oriented IEMs. I never would've thought that analytical IEMs could sound so good!   There are songs that...

I just got the Thermaltake Isurus and the Philips SHE3580.   First reaction; - Philips SHE3580: MY GOD they are comfortable! - Thermaltake Isurus: MY GOD the clarity!   The Philips SHE3580 is a wonderful IEM. You can really feel the bass, which is impressive for IEMs this small. And...

    The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..

Quote: Well, the other monoprice IEMs like the 8319 and the 8321 do look more comfortable. But I'm not sure about the sound quality. I don't think anyone on this forum has tried them.

Gilly87,   I see that you are also using the Voodoo Sound mod? I have a Nexus S myself, with the Wolfson WM8994 DAC. I'm not really sure if the G2x has the same but I how is the sound quality combined with the MP 8320?

Quote: Exactly. And the whole point for me of buying the MP 8320 in the first place was so I wouldn't waste too much money, because I'm going to lose/break them anyway eventually... But luckily a relative of mine is going to the USA for a couple of days so he might be able to order one!

What about the other IEMs on the monoprice website by the way? Like the 8319, 8321 and 8322? Are they any good? I've heard someone saying that the 8319 is basically the same as the 8320, but without the obnoxious design. Probably not true, but someone must've tried the 8319, 8321 or the 8322...

Right now I have four 'bargain' IEMs that I want to buy: - Thermaltake Isurus - Monoprice 8320 - Focalprice CK-700 - Philips SHE3580   But is it correct that the TT Isurus is kinda like an upgraded MP 8320? Would it be unnecessary to buy the MP 8320 if I already have the TT Isurus...

    [Review] Brainwavz M4

Props to Brainwavz/ViSang for making another awesome pair of earphones. I'm not an audiophile, but when I buy something, I do a lot of research. And I know a good set of earphones when I see one.   I've bought the M2, just because I like the "fun" sound of it. The M1, M2 and M4 are a bit too...

    DIY foam ear tips

Hi there!   Let me introduce myself first. I'm not an audiophile by any means. But when I buy something, I do it right. Certainly when it's a bigger investment like IEMs. When I was buying a bass guitar, I've done research on the internet for days. I'm always looking for the best "bang for...
