Who will be the first to post from RMAF with the news on what is new for Schiit? Hopefully with pics.

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

RIP Walter. Back when the discussion was going on about what five albums to take to the island, Aja was the first one that came instantly to mind for me. A lot of great music from Steely Dan.

Happy as a Pig in Schiit: Introducing Modi Multibit

He's saying that he has tried the Win7 drivers available on the Schiit site, but then he doesn't get ASIO when using the Gen 2_1.16 drivers. So then he went with the alternate Win 7 Gen 2 driver 1.03, but says it looks like something is missing when checking the device list. Would be worthwhile...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I just did the same. I'd been wanting to grab a Mimby for awhile, and once I saw the black was available I jumped on it. I'll use it with my vintage Sansui AU-717 integrated amp in my 2-channel system, so the black should pair well. My Modi 2U/Magni 2U will be posted in the For Sale section soon.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Not a problem at all. Hope to get out that way again sometime. My son is currently deployed, but his home base is Cannon AFB in NM, so should get out west upon his return.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Air Force. Was at March AFB until July 1982, and then worked running an air separation plant in Daggett for a few years. Loved the area, and could definitely see myself living in the Mojave desert in retirement.

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

My personal favorite back in the day was a Pioneer CT-F1000, and the tapes actually sounded quite good in the car stereo. Wow, what a blast from the past!

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I wish I could be in the L.A. area tomorrow, or any day for that matter. I did live in Riverside and Yermo in a past life however!

    Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners

Sad indeed. At a selling price of $5.00, can you imagine what it cost to make them? Probably under $2.00.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I'm still kicking myself for selling my Pioneer Spec system on fleabay a decade or so ago, but still love having a 2-channel system in addition to headphone setups. I definitely plan on grabbing a Saga, but will wait until I can get the Vidar at the same time. I'm currently using a Sansui AU-717...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

The fear of a short lifespan for OLED is overexaggerated IMO, at least for the TV's. The tech has advanced over the last couple of years, and will continue to.   A quote from an LGE representative earlier this year:  "The life expectancy of LG OLED is 30K hours to 50K hours to half brightness...

Sounds like a candidate for some Deoxit.   http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/the-idiots-guide-to-using-deoxit-revisited.207005/

You don't often see a CT-F1000 with a wood cabinet either. A great cassette deck IMO.

The Schiitstorm: Next-Gen Magni 2 and Modi 2 Family!

I also recently upgraded from a Modi to a Modi 2 Uber, and I'll echo what bigro stated. The Modi was a very good piece of equipment, but the 2 Uber is even better still, and at what is still a very nice price imo.   I do listen to my headphones through my Magni 2 Uber, but I listen to my...

A couple of sites to take a look at what a resto of the AU-717 can involve -   http://www.stereo.net.au/forums/index.php?/topic/45189-sansui-au717-restoration/   http://liquidaudio.com.au/sansui-au-717-amplifier-repair-restoration/

    Calling All "Vintage" Integrated/Receiver Owners

You may want to ask if the output transistors were looked at/checked. Even if they are good, it would be nice if they had been removed, cleaned, and new heatsink compound applied when reinstalling.   Other items to ask about would be if the speaker protection relay was checked, and if the bias...
