Funny enough - recently invested in a HE1000 Stealth for similar reasons. I personally voted for Noble Ronin, so you can give that a try. I do agree it's not a mini-Raven - the secret sauce feels different. I personally did relate to Triton being more reference/mastering because of how the mids...

Copying over what I mentioned on the SG Canjam thread: I personally think it has a surgical room level cleanliness to it’s sound - no treble glare but not overalls extended, some thump at the bass side but will lead to many think it’s bass light. Mids clear but not lush for your vocal tracks...

I personally think it has a surgical room level cleanliness to it’s sound - no treble glare but not overalls extended, some thump at the bass side but will lead to many think it’s bass light. Mids clear but not lush for your vocal tracks. It however makes a lot of genres easy to listen to since...

CanJam Singapore 2024 Impressions Thread (April 6-7, 2024)

Over the past year, most of my ear time was taken up by the Noble Ronin and Fitear 334 TG. I will say that Empire Ears Triton has the strongest case to take some of their market share.

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Jack confirmed that this will be the first one available in CIEM since the Odin was released 2-3 years ago.

Empire Ears - Discussion & Impressions (Formerly EarWerkz)

Empire Ears Trition was a blast to listen to. IMO best described as Reference style tuning, Empire Ears style. It can be loosely called as L shape tuning where there is a tasteful touch of oomph in the bass, but not over-emphasized. Can imagine that horizontal stroke of the L to be a lot...

CanJam Singapore 2024 Impressions Thread (April 6-7, 2024)

My favourites from the show this year (in no particular order, except the first): 1. Empire Ears Trition - Best summarized as Reference, Empire Ears style (neutral with bass boost). May not be a new flagship but arguably my favourite in the current lineup. 2. Meze Audio Alba - U-tilt IEM with...

Alpha Ti is the most linear IEM I've tried so far, albeit Ronin is no slouch in that department. I think Ronin is a little brighter than linear when compared to Alpha Ti. Detail level and dynamics are about similar, both emphasize fantastic midrange that is forward sounding. Alpha Ti also have...

    1. Alpha Ti 2. Ronin 3. Odin Rn6 is looking from the outside, but I'm reluctant to put it into top 3 as I have mixed experiences (need to tip roll it more). Odin > Raven just because of sound signature preferences, most people (I think) would prefer Raven and I respect that. Special shoutout...

Noble Audio - the Wizard returns!

Azla Max are my current favourites too! Comfort is superb, don't seem to lose any bass response with slightly wider stage. I've also tried them with Final Type E and it toned down the piece a little so for those who think it's a touch bright then look no further (though for me it lost the...

I can already see the cable swap there - I knew it! There’s some monkey business between EA and FiR! Jokes aside, I do find the Rn6 sounding significantly different with tip rolling. The Symbio tips didn’t work for me (made it sound muddy) but once I swap them for silicone that I’m familiar...

Anyone tried tip rolling on Ronin and had great success? Which tips do you prefer?

Jomo Audio Impressions & Discussion Thread

Alpha Ti to me had similar overall tuning to the Oriolus Trailli and Noble Audio Ronin, with the Alpha Ti perhaps the most linear among the 3. If you like a little bit brighter, go Ronin, opposite direction (not bassier, but less bright), get Trailli (assuming budget's no issue).

Have been seriously enjoying the Ronin that I recently got. Anybody had tried tip rolling with the Ronin? Any tips on the best pairing so far?

Jomo Audio Impressions & Discussion Thread

Found it to be a super linear IEM, or W shaped if you are more privy to the dips in mid bass and upper mids. The natural, forward mids is frankly quite amazing, a smooth listen with an amazing soundstage. Honestly, if it was priced a little cheaper, it probably is in my hands now (*wink wink...

The one I tried in Jaben’s booth is the top one so I presume it’s the OG. What does the new one bring to the table?

One of the Soranik reps carried a prototype of their upcoming IEMs that uses MEMS running off a Diablo X. It was not exactly in the showroom, just some of us who are around the outside couches.

Would be pretty impressed if they did go through the trouble of swapping the shells. Hilarious too. Can’t be affected by opinions from CJ NY if they don’t look the same. Based on my quick conversation with them it seems the red is more popular here.

There’s no exact timeline yet but best guess is around SoCal time to nail down the final specs including aesthetics.

I see - I did think the module with the least bass helped me balance it even more, so there’s that. And of course, comparing brand new to brand new prices. If we were to evaluate in second hand prices then the kilobuck bracket would can already be renamed as the ex-two kilobuck bracket, so on...

FATfreq Impressions Thread - Bass Cannons and More

Had my first go at Fatfreq IEMs and colour me impressed. Not exactly my taste (I don’t like big subs) but it’ll definitely be high on my recommendations list for others who like it. I do think the the reference line is a bit under appreciated - the Reference (non-pro) is really good value!
